Which type of parcel? You mean a standard airmail or courier service?

I guess the "parcel" you mention is courier service because the price is RM5.20 which is more expensive than a registered mail RM2.50.

Usually a registered mail will arrive within 2 week. I know that because I always purchase goods from eBay and YesAsia. I just received my wristwatch from Singapore today. The seller ship the watch at 5 September 2008 by using registered mail then I get it today 15 September (10 days),

you can check at http://www.pos.com.my. tracking number RR92681512SG and RF059983825MY. I am living in Miri now, I dun mind about it because I already get the watch from post office just now.

If for courier service, last time I always go to http://www.lelong.com.my buy goods. Usually they are using PosLaju, Skynet, Sure-Reach and SecureXpress. All the courier service will usually reach my home within 2-3 days. The most satisfaction is DHL express, I have purchased a college book from http://www.dash4books.com, a Singapore online College bookstore. That time I really need it very urgent because my campus cannot find that book. They was shipped out the book at 12pm then I received it at the next day 3pm+ like that (Singapore to Miri, Sarawak). Of course DHL express and also FedEx courier service are International standard, they are very professional.

erm.. actually they are both from the poslaju place.. parcel mail is one of their services. you have to fill in a form like poslaju while registered post only requires the registered post sticker. i jus dont understand why it is so expensive (feels like the buyer paid more money for the same thing) my mum is the one who does all the delivery and i dont have time to go down to the office to ask

Yes, I guess your mention that parcel is Poslaju. Actually Poslaju is come from other service by Pos Malaysia. Officially they are work together but in my own opinion, PosLaju is seperated from Pos Malaysia. PosLaju is different from a normal registered mail. If you are living at Taman places, the poslaju ppl will drive their PosLaju van to deliver the parcel until your house doorstep. If your address given is P.O. Box, they are not able to sent the parcel to your house. So they will call you to pick up the parcel from their PosLaju center.

I have bought some items from lelong before. Some item I can receive it within 2 working days (from west malaysia to east malaysia). The PosLaju men are working until Saturday except first Saturday of the month. When they come to my house, they will horn me. Then I just go out then write my name and IC then sign. Then he will pass the item to me.

Poslaju is national courier service, they only ship item within west malaysia and east malaysia. So, if I want to ship item to USA (just for example). I should not using Poslaju, the best courier service is better using FedEx or UPS, or the second best is DHL.

One courier service that I like most in Malaysia is Sure-Reach. Although sometimes they no update their tracking to their website. But their service is quite fast. Usually I can get the items within 1-2 days (from west to east malaysia).

But its okay, just only the time arrive to your address. I buy many things from eBay they all neither using registered mail nor courier service. But they are just ship the item with standard small packet airmail. Usually the things will arrive within 2 weeks (even ship from US and UK also within 2 weeks). Actually it is quite fast already, last time I bought from US and UK, the item arrive after 13 days.
