I will this weekend bring back a 40GB HDD and install MacOSX 10.5.4 for intel on my PC to see if itune can talk to my iphone. I had install it before as a dual boot running Vista and MacOX but uninstall it because I am not too impress with the OS on my hardware. To me all MacOS and Vista looks much the same as I still use the mouse to click on this and that and I still use Safari or Opera to surf the net (well I hope I am not flame for this comment ).

So I should be able to Jailbreak with MacOS once I had upgrade my iphone firmware to 2.1.

MY rig at home is an Intel Core2Duo 2.4GHz with 2GB RAM / 2 HDD running Vista.

Yah I know that is why I deleted the partition so now I have to reinstall in again on another hard disk to JB it when I am successful on the upgrade to FW 2.1 later tonight. Anyway I had always been a Windows man but I will use anything as long as I have a good browser like Opera, Safari, Firefox or IE 7 and a FAST INTERNET connection I would not complain.

The hackintosh as we call it is customize to be install on certain Intel chips set and so far I had been pretty successful to get it running with sound, lan, usb and video. So I believe itune 8 would run because it is leopard. I just want to JB it then will dismantle it .

OK but I use my Vista all the time, can I do the following on my iphone 2G currently fw 2.0.1

1. Update from the firmware I download it.
2. Install MacOS on my PC then PWN it.
3. The use my regular itune 8 on my Vista daily to sync video and music.

Reason most of my application are in Windows

WOKAY..... terima kasih and I will update today on Vista. Will play around it for a few days then over the weekend will install my hackintosh to pwn it .

On another matter, I had a friend who is in NZ now for 2 weeks and with instruction to purchase 2 units of iphone 3G. just got a mail from him today "no stock or maybe they don't like to sell to chinaman " he will try again at different outlet. So if he gets 1 unit then I will offer my currently 2G to a friend, if he gets 2 units then my friend will get the 3G and this 2G would be up for offer here. Would a RM1,300/= be a good offer for a hardly used 2G phone.

Thanks for the WARNING. ...... so I have to do everything in MacOS. Phew.... lucky u say so because I read so many time this thread that once your iphone was pwn before then you can update and it will still be unlock but not jailbreak. So that statement is wrong.

Okay..... will wait until my hackintosh is up and running and do everything there.

I have the same problem on my Vista PC and tried 3 times until 3am this morning. Went to bed then just now redo it on my XP notebook and everything went smoothly. It may be a Vista thing or you could try to run as administrator (which I forgot to do yesterday).

just remember you backup BEFORE YOU upgarde and JB you just restore and everything seems to come back.
