i use an iphone unlocked version, but accidentally updated to 2.2.1 together with the baseband into 2.30.2.

if it is an unlocked version, why on earth do you need a sim card adapter?

bring more pain to his demise.... or sort of.... no need to use sim adapter when ure already have the officially unlock iphone...

it turned locked when i updated to 2.2.1, baseband updated to 2.30.3, and it turned locked again lor, im planning to use a sim unlocker untill dev team can unlock the 2.30.3 baseband....

Why update the firmware when you have a lock 3G iPhone and given that you did not find out more info to begin with. Stated on the first post that upgrading Fw 2.2.1 on a lock 3G iPhone will definately lock your iPhone and thus you'll have an expensive iPod Touch. I hope the hardware simlock method can help you gain back the use of the call/sms function or an upcoming yellowsnow if there's gonna be one in the next few months.

ohh im confused actually, that means i have a locked phone?? and its unlocked when i buy it, so it turned locked again when the baseband is updated?

Please check your Part no on the back of the iphone box. This will indicate the origin of your phone.

When you bought the phone, the seller used yellowsnow to unlock it as it was on Fw 2.2 with baseband 02.28.0.

The new fw 2.2.1 has a new baseband (02.30.03) and there's no unlock software "yellowsnow" for it from Devteam. That's why your phone is locked.

That's why is extremely important to always read before upgrading.

I've got an iPhone 3g 16g from Aussie unlock it using pwnage tool but cant install cydia installer.the process stuck on enter dfu mode steps.i try couple of time but still cant enter dfu mode(i restore it using fw 2.2.1 and working properly but still no cydia installer).please all iphone sifu hoping can give me a good guide and help me...tq..MMU Melaka

With RM 2600, you can purchase an official unlock 8GB 3G iPhone and add a little more to get the 16GB unit.
