Is my bad luck!!!!!!
I just purchase CQ40-115AU and manage to install all vista drivers except the webcam. The device manager can’t detect any Imaging Device for webcam. No such device shown at all even after I reformat and reinstall vista two times.
I really fedup and send back to the shop today. The technician check and told me that there is a problem with the board. Wahhh…what is this!!!! I ask the manager give me new unit since it only 2 days old….but he said he can’t
. Need to send back to HP for defect manufacturer claim.
Did you check for Dead Pixels on the LCD screen?I just purchase CQ40-115AU and manage to install all vista drivers except the webcam. The device manager can’t detect any Imaging Device for webcam. No such device shown at all even after I reformat and reinstall vista two times.

Luckily for me,I brought my dead pixel tester when I went to buy my CQ40.
If not,I'll be like you.
Just bought the set and straight sent to repair.
That's not fair to customer.
The first unit we tested actually got a dead pixel.
They should have rejected that unit BUT they sold it to another customer.
This happens during PC fair.
