Hi guys,

Anyone try to output the HDMI from your laptop to LCD TV?
I tried it on CQ40-337TU, running on Windows Vista. I can see the image but no sound. Any clue? I already installed all the drivers from the official HP homepage.

Yea, already did. In the sound menu, I can select Auto/Digital/Analog sound for the HDMI input.
None of them got sound.

Anyone has tried their CQ40 HDMI to LCD or Plasma? Can you hear the sound?

Thanks.

The LCD is really bright. I'm using Vista, adjusted to lowest already, still I feel that it's a bit too bright, especially when viewing it at night.

Just tested the LCD HDMI port and the cable with a media player with HDMI.
LCD HDMI port and cable both are ok.

So it should be the laptop HDMI audio out got problem.

If anyone tried the CQ40 HDMI to LCD TV, let me if yours is working. Thanks ya.

hello guys please help me out here

I am very Interested in CQ40-308TU with p8600 proc+ intel x4500 rm 2600

also another model of compaq is P7350 Proc+Intel x4500 igp. rm 2200

I will NOT DO Gaming. Now I know that intel 4500 mhd  supports decoding of 1080p videos so i know know from you guys who have x4500 graphics did you play 720p and 1080p mkv files of blu ray rips in your laptops? Using Media player Classic and Vlc what was the cpu usage? did it play smoothly without stutters or lagging? Did the laptop got very hot and shut down?

What was the max cpu usage? and Cpu + IGP max temp?

Should i get a laptop with x4500 IGP to watch 720p and 1080p mkv files smoothly? will it work?

also should i get the one with p7350? or with p8600? will it matter that much in terms of viewing 720p/1080p mkv video files in order to play them smoothly using hardware acceleration?

I dont want to get a laptop with discrete graphics because with discrete graphics the laptop gets very hot

I tried 720p on CQ40-337TU which is using X4500, looks ok for me. The only problem is no audio from the HDMI output.
The LCD screen resolution is 1280x800.
