QUOTE(akinasoul @ Feb 22 2012, 05:28 PM) Hi, I have a Presario CQ40-645TU bought 2 years ago. It blacked out yesterday when I was surfing the net like I always do. Then it restarted back but there's an error message "No bootable device: insert boot disk and press any key". Anybody know what's probably wrong with my laptop? Probably harddisk died on you. try removing the back panel and remove the harddisk and re-insert it. if not remove the harddisk and put it into a external hdd case and plug it into other computer and see if the hdd is still fine.

QUOTE(akinasoul @ Feb 23 2012, 12:57 AM) thanks for the reply. if i remove the harddisk like u said, will it affect the data inside? what if the harddisk is really damaged? does it mean i lost all my data? how much does it cost to buy a new one? There will be no data loss at all. Just put it into a external case and use it as a external hdd and backup your files. If the harddisk is really damage, you wouldnt be able to read it at all. Meaning you'll lose all your data. Harddisk currently is quite pricey. You can check in Garage Sales.
