Okay here's a lil bit of background on the phone.

Bought it from a plaza over here, so it came unlocked to version 1.1.4, everything was fine and dandy until one day,
a certain lady friend of mine with a lustful appearnce, but having a lackluster intellect, decided to press the reset button my settings. I didnt go all apesh1t at first because i thought hey i could just load everything back.

Boy was i in for a rough ride..., i tried hooking it up with iTunes the very next day and iTunes SOMETIMES detects it, SOMETIMES doesnt. And when it does, it gives me "iTunes cannot connect to the iPhone because an invalid response was recieved from the device".

Okay, fine no problem, -i thought; i think i'll just restore it (At that time, latest was 2.0.2, and JB and UL it later with pwnge.

So okay it downloads, extracts, and then BOOM, i get a 2003, 20, other varying code errors each time, though 2003 seems to be the most common. Thats because i i've tried numerous times over. Nothing seemed to work.

So im thinking, okay lets just try pwnge for windows, i get through the process until the DFU part. Due to so many times putting it in restore mode, my fingers somehow started to become numb, and as a results, the part where you're supposed to hold the home button for 30 seconds or so, i accidentally lifted it and Pwnage gave me an error saying that there was a problem.

So i tried again, and this time, i was determined to keep my fingers on where it was supposed to be, and how long it was supposed to be held for. But when i get to the 30-second part, pwnge indeed pwn me by givin me the same error when the timer is reducd to 23, sometimes 20 seconds or so. USB detects that the phone is in DFU mode fine form the systray pop-up.

So now, im officially stuck. Hopfully not royally fkd. And now i hope some of you pros here would have a slight idea on whats going on, and what i should do.

Here are the details:
1st gen, 2G, metal back, etc iphone:
OOTB version: Don't know
iTunes version: 7.7
iPhone version: 1.1.4 (4A102)
Mdm firmware: 04.04.05_G


My phone still has all the apps, however only some of them work and some dont. The installer is still there as well. I havent been on a WiFi spot since this unwanted event. It switches on fine, and everything.

BUT It just wont detect in iTunes, restore, or pwnage

okay, i have just got up from a very long uninterrupted sleep, hence i'm might be in a daze and probably miss out some important details (if that does happen, i do apologise in advance)


before that, let me check some stuffs first. prior to this unfortunately incident of iphone molestation from an attractive lady, have you tried restoring your iphone before using the same types of softwares or firmwares (as in unchanged itunes, unchanged downloaded standalone fw, unchanged pwnage)?

Yes, unfortunately it did not work either. My phone has indeed been violated.

what i meant was, have you tried successfully restore to 1.1.4 before using the same, exact softwares and fw on your pc/mac?

did you install or download a new copy, just to restore your iphone this round?

Nopes, didnt have any sort of restore previously whatsoever.

Downloaded a new copy, just to restore. I dont have a copy of my FW.

hmmm...

it happened to me once before where the FW that i have downloaded is corrupted.


anyway may i suggest that you try upgrading to 2.0.x instead?

I did try, using pwnage, but as i explained above, the pwnage tool got stuck during the DFU mode thing. Windows detected it fine from the systray popup, but pwnange didnt seem to, gave me a red questionmark...

All also error 2003 while trying to update (After extracting). And now if i wanna update, i gotta get iTunes 8 which will be even worse i reckon.. :S

was your DFU a true one?

with a true DFU, your screen has to be entirely blank (or rather black) and not the insert the USB cable to the itunes diagram.

furthermore, the screen will flash white for a split second after the DFU initiation as a reconfirmation.

Yes, it was a true DFU, BLACK SCREEN.
According to the About Itunes, its 7.7.1.

Forgive me, but the way i understood your post was if i want to pwn my iphone which is 1.1.4, id have to use the winpwn in conjucntion with iTunes 7.5 ?

Hmm i would suggest to upgrade into 2.0.1 rather than 2.0.2
I dont think 2.1 got pwned yet. Go to the sleepers.net webbie, there is a tutor on how to downgrade FW

Okay well i downloaded iTunes 7.5, and before i installed it i deleted everything itunes related, including cleaning the registry. Clean sweep.

Plugged iPhone in, did not detect. Invalid Response on the first try, and error 0xE8000013 on the second, and back to Invalid Response for the next consecutive times i plugged iPhone in.

So i kick it into restore mode, iTunes detects phone;

Okay downloaded the 1.1.4 firmware as well, but still to no avail. Tried left click restore for 1.1.4FW, and UNKOWN ERROR 6 came up the first time, and with 1.1.3FW ERROR 5 came up,



Phone works fine and dandy, jsut that iTunes wont recognize iPhone when plugged in, invalid response was recieved. Grrr


Any other thoughts ?
