Yes, you can update from your pawned iPhone to firmware 2.1 and remain unlocked but third-party apps from jailbreaking will be gone.

I'm thinking to update to firmware 2.1, but my videos rely on MxTube. I only have Cydia & Installer and I'm okay if both is gone cause now I rely more on App Store.

So in order for Genius to work, I need to re-sync my music and enable Genius on iTunes first? That's work again.

Did you guys having this problem or it's normal, when I'm playing music I normally turn off the display (most of us do that) and when I turn it back on and Slide To Unlock.. I'll get kick to home screen instead of stay at the playing menu. So I was wondering is this a bug or a normal thing?

The good thing, music is playing and all looks fine and normal.

I just updated from pawned 2.0.2 to stock 2.1 via iTunes, so I guess I'll just bare with it. At times it happens, at times not.

Whenever I restore, I always create as a new phone. Never use backup, never backup anyways.. hehe.

I just updated from pawned 2.0.2 which have Cydia & Installer. After update to 2.1, both are gone so my phone is still unlock but jailbreaking files are gone.

Yes, Safari crash is something common on every firmware. Apparently, there's still no rock-solid firmware to avoid Safari crash as different websites different loads of data so it's up to Safari to handle the burden, if too heavy then it crash.

Open an account to go with iTunes music store or the app store, then you can buy and download contents off the iPhone. There's a bunch of apps in social networking category such as Palringo and etc. You can use IM with the apps.

SwirlyMMS beta has just released, it's available off Cydia. You can try that, if you wanna download from Installer.. you have to install Community Sources. Search around inside.

If you have custom firmware made by WinPwn or Pwnage Tool, then you can just update to firmware 2.1 stock via iTunes, your phone will remain unlocked & activated but your third-party applications will be gone.

Yes, every 5 minutes it will alert you.

God my Safari still lags like hell on the keyboard even on 2.1!

Well on my iPhone 2G, battery life is consider good. You can complete a full charge cycle by using it from 100% (full charge) to 0% (needs charge) every 1-2 months once. This is to give practice to your battery life so that it can be use longer. Battery life issue is maybe due to what apps you always run.

So sorry Lurker, miss you out. You can only jailbreak stock firmware using QuickPwn AFAIK after you've updated from iTunes.

Pwnage Tool 2.1 is already out, I think you can enjoy firmware 2.1 jailbroken.
