one suggestion from me here.
try use the vista driver to install.

Install it manually. Force installation. it works

for sound driver please try force installation if auto detect and install is not working.

you can try the above two link.
btw, everytime before you proceed,
please make sure that you uninstall all the driver that you want to change.

if the latest driver encounter the problem,
try the previous version. i give the link to you above and some discussion on hp site.

The problem you encounter here is because the quick launch button driver havent been properly installed yet.
you can try window vista version and install it on XP and see how it goes.

what driver does you use?

It should belong to the ATI Function Driver from ATI or the IDT driver for Vista.
