With the upcoming league coming into place, there will be need for players that do not have teams, particularly during the course of the season.

I have come up with a plan that would benefit both teams and free agents, but would generally require teams to fork out payments, if necessary.

Here's the plan. To avoid teams changing players mid-way through the league season, teams are required to register their subs, if they don't have one, they cannot continue unless they "loan" or "hire" a free agent.

This will be a contract based payment, free agents are paid either per game or per season. Their performance is rated by the teams that hire them and are reflected towards their resume. Free agents CANNOT join the teams permanently, until the season ends. This allows other teams to eventually bid or offer them placements within their teams. Once they are a permanent placement, they are no longer a free agent and will not be listed in the free agents listings.

Upon a breech of contract, "free agent not showing up etc etc", teams may release these players with bad rep, generally black listing them from the listings.

How contracts work.

1. Teams that need members will scroll through a list of players, with their "resume" online, maybe here, together with their contact number
2. Team leaders will then contact the players for availability
3. The Free Agent may choose to accept or deny an offer but once they accept, they MUST fulfill the requirements of the contract that is signed
4. Upon accepting a contract, the Free Agent should typically appear for trainings or matches for the said period of time, once the period is over, the contract is void and he/she will be a free agent once again, so long as the Teams do not renew that said contract.
5. Teams are then responsible to fill up a recommendations/comments list of the player for them to put into their "resume"
6. New contracts are needed for completed/forfeited contract

Here's an example.

Contract A:
1. Team X will pay for training costs, est. RM 4/hour a day, directly to the cybercafe.
2. Team X will arrange transportation if needed.
3. Team X will pay RM 10 per win, RM 5 per draw and RM 2 for every participated game.
4. IF free agent fails to appear for whatever reason, the contract is voided.
5. Upon forfeiture, a penalty of RM100000, paid by the Free Agent is incurred.
6. All disputes must go through the organizing commitee of said league before a final result is confirmed.

example laahhh

What do you think, ladies and gentlemen?

This will be the first in Malaysia, assuming it is taken into consideration.
This is a serious matter and may, in the future affect all gamers, including other games out there. Think about it.

For the future of gaming.

Brilliant, dude! Although I'm sensing that we'll have to come up with the contract template itself, but who cares! Another step closer to professional gaming. <3 I think many people out there who are thinking that everyone is 'peng yo peng yo' (Def: friends) and by doing this, we are ruining personal relationships and what not. Well, as long as there is money involved, you should be covered lar. =)

we'll (the league commitee) come with a standard template, which we will give to all captains. There are rules on when the brackets are open. You cannot register a team with a free agent, means they cannot be attached to a participating team.

Generally, the details of the contract are private and must go through the commitee, for legitamate purposes smile.gif

walao this is football manager!!!i think its a good idea cause i am sure there would be situations where some players cant make it.

my question is wat about borrowing a member from the same clan?for example SWL.RvG is a member short n they would like to borrow a member of SWL.PeW for just 1 match, would that be possible?I know SWL.PeW is banned from this  league but its just 1 member n it reduces complications of finding new players.
*
well, to be fair, you can't. Since the player may be imba for amatuer league status, it may affect the league in a way. They are banned for a reason smile.gif

Technically, we need to enforce this rule so free agents get to play. It also allows teams to actually scout for players during the season, then after that, perhaps take them in permanently as a team player. Remember, free agents aren't getting the perks good clans have, therefore its still more pros than cons for them smile.gif

works both ways, hope ou understand. smile.gif

Also, it forces you to think about having subs for your team. Registering them is technically "free" tongue.gif

There are no free agents in professional gaming.

There's always something new. Besides, with no one enforcing or applying it, obviously there wont be.

Eh well done, Grr speaks for the world now. If you have contracts, who's gonna oversee them? I dont remember CoD4 Association of Malaysia. Who is going to validate the contacts? Do we need solicitors to negotiate our contracts now too? Contracts just make it so...so...so damn bloody complex and the next thing anybody knows, we're gonna have lawsuits filed against people who breached the contract blah blah blah. IMO, registration should do just fine.

stop being a troll..

The contracts are for promotional purposes only. If you know how the COD4 community and organizers run, you'll see why it may attract them.
Notice the amount of teams looking for players and notice the amount of players looking for teams. The contracts just make it official.
I noticed this from Tbun's First tournament by New Era. A majority of teams needed extra's for their team.

If you read through the contract rules, the commitee will oversee payment and breaches. AND it only affects free agents, not casual players.
If you want to be in a competition but not permanently in a clan, the free agent listings gives you a better chance of being there. Think Freelancer.

In the industry, any industry, you'll have freelancers, those who understand the terms and conditions while wanting to be a participant but not completely tied down to a corporate ruling. The Listings is FOR those people. Why be a freelancer? Money and reputation.

The reason this is here is also to promote getting paid for gaming while gaining a little more respect for gamers nationwide. If you cant handle a simple gaming contract, which has like.. 2 clauses, how are you going to survive in real life when you deal with real contracts that have 90 - 120 clauses.

This argument is invalid, Because the contract are at the concent of 3 parties. Player, Commitee and Clan. So long as there are 2 parties in concensus and there is a valid contract, all we need to do is black list those who do not follow the rules from the league. No one is going to pay you RM 1000 to play for them, therefore there is no need for a lawsuit.

Other than this, the contracts are also to ensure players dont FFK teams that are willing to play and pay, but are missing a player or two for that particular event.

Please think thoroughly about it before putting it forward, we may make mistakes as organizers and players, but ultimately some thought has been put to this. You must also understand the difference between a critique and an insult.
