Creating a team is so hard. Harder than usual. There's too many anonymous teams laugh.gif

Rosicky also join the party thumbup.gif

Rosický's Matchday 1

Arsenal FC midfield player Tomáš Rosický will be picking his team for the official 2008/09 UEFA Champions League Fantasy Football game. Read what he has to say about his team for Matchday 1.

Goalkeepers
I have picked goalkeepers Petr Čech (Chelsea FC) and Artur Boruc (Celtic FC). I know Petr very well as we play together in the Czech national team. He is a great goalkeeper, strong on the line and very good in one-on-one situations. He has been through a very difficult season with all his injuries but I am sure that if he stays fit he will be very important to Chelsea again.

Defenders
William Gallas is Arsenal's captain and a true leader. He is experienced and has great tactical awareness, is always in the right place at the right time and on top of that is also dangerous in the opposition penalty area. He can score goals as he has already demonstrated this season. Edu was a key player in Fenerbahçe SK's run to the quarter-finals last season, so I am including him in my defence. He is joined by Real Madrid CF defender Pepe (suspended on Matchday 1), who is very difficult to get past and contributes going forward too. He played very well for Portugal at UEFA EURO 2008™ and has become a key member of Madrid's back line. Werder Bremen's Naldo and Club Atlético de Madrid's Tomáš Ujfaluši complete my defence. Naldo has a great long-range shot so I’m hoping he will get me some goals. Tomáš is another international team-mate and a very versatile defender. He also likes supporting the attack from right-back and is a good header of the ball. Although he is not very tall, he has very good timing.

Midfielders
In midfield I have picked Robert Pires and Marcos Senna (both Villarreal CF), Theo Walcott (Arsenal), Paul Scholes (Manchester United FC) and Aiden McGeady (Celtic FC). I have admired Pires for a long time and even if he is getting older, he is still a very good player. Senna was amazing playing behind four attacking midfielders and doing all the hard work for Spain at UEFA EURO 2008™. But he is not only a defensive, ball-winning midfielder, he also has good passing abilities and a strong long-range shot. Scholes has played for United for so long and he has always produced top-class performances, which is not easy at this level. He is suspended for Matchday 1 so I am keeping him in reserve. I have picked Theo Walcott as I believe we will see more amazing runs from him. He is very difficult for defenders to stop because of his speed. He is improving all the time and as he can play in attack too I am sure he will bring me some goals. McGeady is a good winger, fast and difficult for defenders to stop. Celtic play attacking football in front of their fans at Celtic Park and I hope they will score a lot of goals in the UEFA Champions League.

Forwards
In attack I have picked Madrid's Ruud van Nistelrooy, FC Barcelona's Thierry Henry and Lukas Podolski of FC Bayern München. Van Nistelrooy has shown he can score goals in all competitions. He is a typical goalscorer with great positioning in the box. Henry has had a difficult season after his move from Arsenal but I think he has adapted now and I expect a better season from him. Podolski had a great EURO and should continue to perform well this season.

Tomáš Rosický's team
Goalkeepers
: Petr Čech (Chelsea FC), Artur Boruc (Celtic FC).

Defenders: William Gallas (Arsenal FC), Edu (Fenerbahçe SK), Pepe (Real Madrid CF), Naldo (Werder Bremen), Tomáš Ujfaluši (Club Atlético de Madrid).

Midfielders: Robert Pirès (Villarreal CF), Marcos Senna (Villarreal CF), Paul Scholes (Manchester United FC), Theo Walcott (Arsenal FC), Aiden McGeady (Celtic FC).

Forwards
: Ruud van Nistelrooij (Real Madrid CF), Thierry Henry (FC Barcelona), Lukas Podolski (FC Bayern München).

how celtic performance in local league league ? icon_question.gif
*
this is Europe stage,Celtic and Rangers always good in local league but when they play at Europe it will be different story, normally Scottish side always good at home and always keep clean sheet
their best assist is McGeady and MacDonald is their top scorer,i my self pick McGeady and one Celtic`s defender

better pick Cazorla rather than Pires,Villareal and MU is hard to predict match, last time they meet is in 2004/2005 season where they draw 0-0 at Old Trafford and also 0-0 at Madrigal

I believe the reason is due to not many people know footballers from other leagues... Like myself hahaha...

But I'll give it a shot anyway. It's free and it has PRIZES OOO....

Note for Encik Faris: Oh yes this is my 1st time playing these fantasy football, both EPL and UEFACC so my aim will be to perform better than you Encik Faris  brows.gif then I will consider this season a success
*
then u should ask soccernet.espn or soccerway.com to help, soccerway cover almost all league in this world,u can find who top scorer in unknown league there

PS : beat me is nothing,u can consider a success if can beat Mono Demon team (title holder) and Sang Karim (sifu in mind game) sweat.gif
