hm....guys and gals....as for 2.1 firmware will mostly release today, but from what i read here

meaning we jailbreakeres might have problem update to 2.1 firmware?

if i am so damed desperate to update to 2.1 firmware, can i just hit the restore button at my itunes, so that i can go back to orignol setting which my phone was no more jailbroken, then i update to 2.1 firmware, then wait for them to release a patch?





PS: hit the restore button will revert back to totally originol setting right?

as far as i know, restore will revert back to original setting of that iphone,

i think for the "syncing to an already pwned devide works fine only for 1st gen phone that have been pwnage/winpwn since i remember last time, we can updated to new firmware as long as that phone have been pwned, using winpwn/pwnage software only, using any other software cant,<<----- correct me if im wrong.

The good thing about having an unlock 3G iPhone is that you can update your firmware without having to wait for Dev-team or Winpwn to come up with an unlocking solution for fw 2.1 and beyond. You don't need to use restore unless you download it from apple. Just upgrade the firmware. The only thing you'll lose is all the 3rd party apps(jailbreak) and it will revert back to the default iPhone settings.


Syncing with a jailbreak iPhone(both 1st Gen and 3G) with iTunes 8 has no problem.

*An ipwned ipsw is a custom made firmware created with pwnagetool or winpwn. iTunes 8 came out with a solution to counter the 'hack' by PwnageTool or Winpwn and prevent the 'New' iPod from getting pwned. At the moment, DevTeam will be preparing a patch for the new ipods and also the iPhones to work with iTunes 8.

So upgrade time Sam. firmware 2.1 Let us know the how it goes and the improvement of the firmware.

Big reason to get a properly unlocked iphone

ahhh.. So wat I nid to do is sync my jailbroken iPhone, click update to latest firmware at my iTunes, then after a while it will update to latest firmware 2.1, and all I lose is my cydia,inztaller4 apps only, and my iPhone is back to virgin

Coz I see they write jailbroken iPhone will got prob when updating to latest 2.1 firmware ma, so sked abit.

firmware should be out today.. haven't check if its out yet or not..
basically, if your device hasn't been pwned before, u will have difficulties in JB when u update to 2.1
and yea, what davidgary73 said is what the dev team are doing now.. finding a patch to counter it.. hahaha

wat are the benefits of 2.1? lain from ipodtouch?

i just got my phone unlocked, legally unlocked.. wohoo! my hotlink simcard now works with my iphone! wheeeee!!
