What is the Networked Media Tank (NMT) ?
The NMT is a product developed by Syabas Technology that combines Digital Media Adaptor (DMA), NAS, Media Server and Torrent downloader in a single lower cost device. Some versions will include DVD and BluRay playback capability.

Why do I need an NMT?
There are several reasons why you need an NMT. If you have a large media collection and would like to view it on your plasma/projector/home theater system. This is one of the most cost-effective ways to avoid investing in a HTPC. You can stream music, pictures and most importantly videos. The NMT supports H.264 video which is a compliant 1080p HiDef codec used by Bluray and HD-DVD. The second generation of NMT players with HDMIv1.3 support HD audio codec passthrough.

What are the supported file system for NMT?
File system read supported: EXT2/3, NTFS, FAT16/32, HFS+
File system write supported: EXT2/3, FAT16/32. NTFS write (not supported and low priority in to do list)

What type of network sharing does the NMT built-in NAS support?
SMB, FTP, NFS

What is the best network connection for playing back high bitrate content?
Looking at the above chart, HTTP will be the preferred method for streaming. However, HTTP protocol does not support .iso/.ifo format at the moment. The next best choice is SMB/NFS.
