E-Club's Left 4 Dead Servers:

We currently have 55 servers. To manually find them, enable the developer console in the controller options and type "openserverbrowser" (without the quotes). If they don't appear, click on the 'favourites' tab and manually add them.

Announcing our Left 4 Dead dedicated servers! We have 40 of them. So log in and try them and post here if there are any problems. Thank you.

Updated the OP with the L4D servers.

By default the servers are at normal difficult coop campaign mode. You can join in the server first and then vote to change difficulty or mode. We'll change some to pvp servers tomorrow on default.

Ok we changed the settings for servers 29-40 to be versus mode but there seems to be a bug and have been confirmed by other dedicated server admins as well. The maps do run fine but when human players leave the server (thus emptying it), the server will default the maps back to campaign mode.

So ...

Until they fix that, we can't have the servers truly stay 'versus'.

UPDATE: Nvm, found the problem. Will fix it by today.

Are you referring to the TF2 servers? Can you give more details as in which one? At what time have you been experiencing this? Was the server full of players? Any feedback would be good. Btw, we changed the ports of the TF2 servers. Updated in the OP.

I don't get what you are trying to say that 20-30 and its lag part. 20 ping is low and good actually.

Ok so the complaints on the TF2 servers were old. How about now? Since the Starhub servers are always full, care to try the e-Club ones and give comment?

Regarding L4D ... we tried changing some settings in the config for a versus server but weird bugs keep popping up (ie no one can join). Regarding the connection problems (where it says so ingame on the top right hand corner of the screen), I get that sometimes too on other servers, especially when changing chapters. So I am not sure if it just our side but we will check it out.

One way to check your ping ingame is by opening the console and typing net_graph 1 and typing net_graphheight xxx (where x is a value) to adjust its height if it is blocking your hp bar.

Updated the L4D dedicated servers. Also tied it to the L4DMA Steam Group so its easier for people in that group to find and join the servers. At this moment, we have dropped the server count to 30 for more stability.

We were updating the servers and now there are more servers for L4D. Check the OP for the info.

Btw, news is out that the undersea cable was damaged (Asia to US, 3 out of 4 cables were damaged). So expect lag and spikes often now.

L4D was designed as a jump in and play type of game and as such, it doesn't have a detailed browser support as compared to TF2. This means that people just join lobbies of their friends or random people and when they start the game, it will find a server that satisfy their needs. It is because of this that having a passworded or locked steam group server means nothing. This is because after one person (who knows the password or in the steam group) joins the server, the server unlocks itself. Which is why you sometimes see occurrences where you were playing a private coop campaign game with your friends and one of your friends disconnected from the game and suddenly a stranger joins the game right after. At this moment in time, I do not know if they are planning to fix this or not (or has it been fixed).

That is why most people will think that the game they made was theirs and proceed to have you kicked.
