This week no more forex for me; got caught by the surprisingly strong aussie employment number! Ouch! . Reducing the risk on my portfolio. Shorting FKLI instead.

Trailing stop loss (unlike normal stop) follows the movement so you can't hit it until it reverses?

Avafx demo account is for 21 days only. Considering other demo accounts are unlimited, I didn't go any further after their first email mentioning the 21 days.

The EA is use to manage your trade.

For example, I open a trade wif 2lot, it will close my 1lot at 30pips, then move my SL to +1, and close the 2nd lot at 60pips.

Named as managetpv... But the EA author havent finish settle the bug inside, that what happen to me juz now. BAD BUG

Can you check something? Look into the Experts tab, right-click Open on any line, open the log file and search for the line "Error closing order xxxxx". If find that, that might explain something.

@mphpopular

There are (or should be) more than 1 Expert log files with date-stamp as the name. So look in the file for yesterday or whenever the problem happened and check the timestamp for the error line.

Historical charts are available free with the MT4 platform, even the demo ones. You have to download the history for each pair you want, there is no history by default.

The M1 bar goes back to 1999, the weekly bar goes as far back as 1978.

Make sure you have tonnes of RAM on your PC if you want to go that far back. smile.gif

Yo thanks, why do you need lotsa RAM to download data? Is 4gb enough?  tongue.gif
*
You don't need the RAM for downloading. You also don't need much to backtest an EA.

It gobbles up RAM when you display the historical charts, the more history (ie more bars) the more RAM required. Especially when you also have several indicators attached. But 4GB should be enough for a chart or two. smile.gif

can i know which broker are you using? demo or live?

cos mine only go back to 2007.

Any broker with MT4 platform should have it.

By default, you don't get any history. You need to download for each symbol. Go to Tools / History Center. Highlight symbol and click download at the bottom.
