if not mistaken, it start at 7pm EST time = 7am our local Malaysia time.
Before Asian/Japan market open, Australia market has opened at 3-4pm EST time but not too active compared to Japan market.

wtf Oanda's spread for AUD/USD is 20 pips right now, all the other major pairs are a whopping 10 pips...this is ridiculous

do the other brokers give such wide spreads when trading resumes?
*
Its normal coz they charge more spread if there a LOW liquidity in the market especially during opening at monday and closing at friday

Right, do other brokers do the same?

Wanted to close my position before trading resumed but the spread was 15 pips, but being a newb i thought it would go back to normal when it opened this morning, but instead the spread widened to 20 pips and shot up against my position...zz profit turned loss, sad.

Now i know i should close my positions over the weekend if i don't wanna hold it for long.

much depend on broker
but many mt4 broker do provide fix spread again its not fix during news

I guess you can call me one, from the way i've been trading in the past few days, i trade on the hourly chart and try to ride along each anticipated movement using the fibonacci levels, so far it's been pretty good, which is kinda worrying me since it feels a bit too easy, but i know forex trading is a risky business so i always trade no more than 5 times leverage and always have a stop loss order.

Anyway i'm pretty damn new to forex and am only in the 4th grade in the babypips school biggrin.gif, i probably shouldn't start trading real so early on but what the heck can afford to lose 100 USD, so just learn in real-time.

Any thoughts?

Are you serious you called yourself scalper?
Scalper not trade using big time frame
It using the lowest time frame.
I'm using 1second time frame to scalp the market

LiteForex has a local branch in Kelantan? Like an office with a physical presence? That's interesting because i wouldn't expect an international forex broker to have a branch based in Kelantan, of all places. I had a look at their website and they're part of Straighthold Investment Group which is based in Seychelles. I mean, why Kelantan lol, the capital city is KL.

Is there any broker that has an office in KL?

So it's free to withdraw from LiteForex? Cause it cost like 15 bucks each time you withdraw from Oanda which is kind of a rip-off. That's why i asked.
But my question is why was there an activity at that time when market's meant to be closed.
You can place an order now so when the market reopens it'll be executed straight.
*
FYI,
oanda does't charge you fee if you withdraw 1 times within 1 month.
If more then 1 time during same month then they only charge you.

Research more b4 u said anything

Can someone explain to me why is there a sudden rise in the middle of the break? Was there some trading going on?
*
Oanda is interesting cause they update their quotes thru the weekend. You can even trade them if you want to pay the spread.
prices move on the weekend - where do u think that Sunday open gap comes from?
You can just select the 'Ignore weekend data' option if you want.
