as my topic... my 360 got fever today and during troubleshoot is show code 0 0 2 0 to boot...
huhu... feel like i am infected and now i think i got fever also .... huhu.... around 6 month in my care and it got 3RoD...

sadly... mine is falcon unit manufactured in Jan 19 2008....

im down when Prince of persia is around the gate.... Duh....

so here i am... asking who will go down to singapore so that i can ask for help to claim warranty for me...
of course travel money will be provided if asked...

no mood to talk about anything now.... sorry...







honestly.... i am thinking to buy ps3 now....

go to gamershideout at cineleisure mutiara damansara , pay rm300 or may be less then that , they will help you claim ur warranty from microsoft singapore...how long ? not so sure how long u will get the replacement..may be a month..

yup... and i do never exceed 6 hour game time to boot and always let 5 minutes interval between on and before and after play games.... game time is maybe 2 @ 3 times per week....

dont get heart attack ya.... i bought 360 knowing that i will get RRoD so when this happen im not that sad actually.... i serve me well.... just that it has short life span

i think if u play everyday, uncle rrod will not hit. If u play less frequent, more easy to attack. From my experience la. Mine got Rrod edi, then do xclamp. After xclamp, i seldom play, then hit again. Then i try to warm up like put there open for for half an hour for every 3rod session then only can play. Then now i try everyday play 3-4hrs, not yet hit *touch wood* for 1-2months edi. BUt now exam i seldom play edi.. only open put there 1-2 hrs at dashboard then off it.

i suggest you let the GPU strain a bit la bro. rather than just dashboard, run a game that has intro movies (like Bioshock).
give em the heat to run with..

im thinking of buying falcon set looks like im changing my mind,looks like uncle 3rod likes to visit falcon set also maybe i should stick to my good PS3

what made u think that the ps3 is more worth it? my first ps3 was collecting dust for 8 months before i sold it off cos at that time there were no games to play and it's online play is lousy...

unlike Xbox Live....it's more fun for me. just my 2cents

I have to agree with your statement...if not because of the blu-ray, there is no way im buying the ps3, even the MGS disk has been unwrapped but not yet played....the 360 is infected with the 3rod syndrome, but it is blessed with the long list of available games and its excellent online experience...pls don flame...its my 2cent

My xbox oledi died on me and i only have ps3 as my backup.. but seriously LIVE is trully awesome compare to PSN.. now I just wait for jasper to rise and hopefully before gears2 launch... need to go back to LIVE despreatly.. Dunno why I try my best to enjoy PSN as much as I can but the service will never the same like LIVE.. no offence though to all PS3 user this is my true 2cent..

falcon sets are rare and lower chances but doesnt mean wont get hit by RROD

i have just bought mine and i truly hope it will serve me well, for at least some months

u know la rite , some 360 buat hal even 4 month old...like my friend his 360 2 month then 3rrod..then claim for replacement / warranty..6 month after that 3rrod...

but like mine before last 1 and half years...then let go to one of the forummers here.

i have seen new xbox in stores the go pro set 60GB izit jasper already but as i c the manufacturing date its 07/2008 could it be jasper in sight?

for me, my 360 is great i wont deny that.... and i also wont deny games in ps3 is also awesome.... at first i try to make 360 is my choice for multi platform and exclusive title and ps3 only for exclusive game...

but now thinking to revert that... ps3 now maybe lack of beautifulness of what 360 got.... but reliability is issue here... like me... i dont want my console down just before i want to play my game... which in this case.... Prince of persia....

i am not belittle both ps3 or 360 here... i used to hate xbox for its masive fps game... but that is that and 360 is indeed a full makeover from xbox... so i am a happy owner of 360... will go to djinn place when i got time... and will buy ps3 when time come....

the most important factor is.... do i enjoy the game i bought.... cheers

false claim? the 60gb model MB does have a slight diffrence. I think they moved some chip...dunno what chip is it. i think its the RAMs....

thinking of buying a go pro 60GB xbox360 any one here have experienced 3rod with this newly improved Falcon mobo,and as i know that the new falcon mobo they removed the ram on the underside of the mobo and double up the size on the upperside so less heat on the underside to reduce 3rod issue.

that design is superbly new so we may need some time to actually know the effect of that theory....

btw... just buy it.... or at least make a collection of games first before that game disappear for good.

If I want to claim the rrod warranty by myself, what do I actually have to bring to sg?

The whole box set?
Or just the console will do?

Claim rrod need to show sg receipt?
If yes, local buyer how to claim?

If bring it to sg microsoft claim, can settle it straight on the spot?
Or have to wait few days/weeks?

One more question is
Any issue when crossing kastam on both side while holding the big greeny box?

for question how to claim warranty.... i guess it is best for Djinn or those who had did it before explain it...

First Make A report and send an email to Customer Support that you have the PRoblem of the 3 Red Rings of Death.

Tell them you have done all the troubleshooting from the 3 RROD.

So when sending the email to microsoft

send them your name, your contact , you xbox 360 serial number and your xbox manufacturing date.

once done that wait till Microsoft reply back to you (24 hours it takes)

once you have your email from Microsoft call Microsoft hotlink number (only able to call at Singapore number only)

Tell them your reference number (from your email)

they will recheck and after some Troubleshooting ( they tell you the procedure and etc)

they will give you another pickup reference number.

they will tell you to wait at least 5 - 7 days.

once after 7 days head to funan with your xbox 360 (machine only! no other accessories !)

and they will exchange an refurbish set for you.

end of story.

for my case.... do they will guarantee my unit will be at least falcon.... because if earlier batch than it is not compatible with my power brick right?? forgot to ask about this earlier.... hahaha... i got laughed...

don't worry, if your set is a falcon, they will eventually find a falcon unit in return ( and I don't know why they did that.. I prefer the latest model..)

let just take an example..

if your unit is a Xenon Mobo.. They will eventually give you a Zephyr Revision Mobo.. Not A falcon (which I find it odd.. Guess too much Refurbish unit I geuss)

so if your unit is a falcon they will eventually give you a falcon unit (Well at least is the newest.. not the old model )

what about the zephyr? will we get back a falcon or another zephyr?

Is Zephyr. I did all the exchange before. They will eventually give you the same model. but a reversion model.

My experience with my xbox 360.

First bought it in Singapore in Dec '06. It was *the* noisier system ever and when the disc drive spun, it sounded like a jet engine and it could take off anytime...really. But I enjoyed the 360 games and XBOX Live so much. I really like the system a lot and since then, I have been buying 1 new game every month. Howerver, in August '07, it started to freeze and within a week, there came the 3-flashing-red-light.

OK after some effort I managed to get a service request number and had it exchanged 5 working days later with a much quieter XBOX. I thought wow this was much better and was really happy with it again for 1 year before it hit 3ROD in August '08! Luckily MS admitted the problem and already announced 3-year-extended warranty for 3ROD.

I called Microsoft Malaysia to get a phone number to reach Singapore XBOX support (the tollfree number posted on web can only be called within Singapore). In the mean time while grateful with her reply and also complained to her why there are no official XBOX360's in Malaysia.

XBOX Support in Singapore was kind enough to explain the 3ROD causes and ask for the power supplier output rating (203W or 170++ W). She said the rating will let her know which console model to replace. So same thing, 5 working days later to get the exchange.

So here I am having a 3rd console within 1 year and 8 months. This 3rd console is actually noisier than my 2nd console so I'm counting the days when it will hit 3ROD again.

The Singapore service center personnel mentioned to me that I was considered one of the luckiest because I had the console working for 1 year without the problem! Many didn't survive that long. I can't believe what I was hearing....and started to really lose confidence with this system.

So I had travelled 3 times from KL to Singapore for the console. I may already have spent enough money on the travel to get a brand new console.

Oh I need to mention that twice I was given replacement units that had production date in 2006 August.

Lastly, I think XBOX360 is the most unrealible consumer system I had ever seen. If not for the good games and XBOX Live contents, this system would not have survived until today.
