Hello all,

I work for a computer retail outlet based in Kuala Lumpur. My company is planning to "go green", we're going to launch a recycling campaign where the public can bring in their unused IT products (old, damaged, destroyed until mother also cannot recognise) to the shop, we'll give a small discount based on their contributions.

The problem with today's public is that they don't know how to properly dispose off their IT products, usually just throw into the trash, myself included, because there is insufficient awareness on this. E.g. routers, flash drives, hard drives, mouse, keyboard, etc. Rosak or too old, newspaperman don't want to collect. So just throw into landfill, will damage our earth.

So we want to set up a 'collection center' where the public can just drop their items there, if its working then at least someone can refurbish to resell or donate to other charity foundations, if its not working or not worth repairing, then at least can help to properly dispose it off instead of direct to the trash can.

I'd like to emphasise that this is not a trade-in business. This is a non-profit project, in fact we're giving discounts out of our own pocket.

What I'm looking for:

A large organisation (preferably KL based) to collect the items from us on a regular basis (weekly or monthly depending on response), for a long term period, perhaps as a permanent service. We would require 'post-recycling data' i.e. how many kg of items were refurbished, how many kg total collected, etc. for our postmortem as well as for future marketing purposes. A small share of profits (if the working items can be resold) would be a welcome encouragement for us, to help offset our own costs, but that is not a requirement.

As this is still in planning stages, I would prefer to keep things 'under the blanket' and not reveal too much information. Please PM me if you would like to participate, or if you have anyone in mind.

Thank you.
