CQ40-125AX user reporting in! Add me to list ya, thanks. Great laptop for everything up to moderate gaming, including 3D modelling since I'm a Blender user. My biggest complaint is the terrible battery life, about 1 3/4 hours only with maximum power savings. I'm very interested in a battery upgrade. Also, the front cover design is way too glossy. Heartache everytime I see the scratches on it. And just to throw in a bit more poison... HD Trailer from Apple.com

Dunno how many ppl here think this is good news, but I can get exactly 2 hours of battery life using Ubuntu 8.10 compared to 1 hour 20 mins using 8.04 on my 125AX. The power management support has become way better.

QUOTE(shady @ Nov 12 2008, 09:57 PM) Do you have problems with Linux such as drivers and settings? It was particularly easy with Ubuntu; just tick the check boxes for each "Restricted Driver" (ATI and Broadcom Wireless in this case), it will download (via wired network), install, restart, voila! All hardware functional. There's something wrong with the graphics atm though. If I turn on desktop effects and run a 3D app at the same time, the 3D app will flicker like mad. Good thing I hardly ever need to run any 3D apps in Ubuntu. Didn't happen with the previous release, which is weird.
