QUOTE(daymond85 @ Dec 13 2008, 11:03 PM) yes...finish install vista ultimate 32bit....(my 64bit CD not working) it come with vista and xp driver but my ati 3200 only score 1.0 == Did you refresh your Windows Experience Index after installing the driver? Because if you don't, the score will remain as before. Can you see a message saying 'new hardware detected, W.E.I needs to be refreshed' or something like that?

QUOTE(faiz_since86 @ Dec 14 2008, 11:35 PM) warghhh!!! i'm so sad... after using my lappy (CQ40-133AX) for a while...i noticed a very tiny green dot on the bottom left of the screen...and it won't go away... i think there is something wrong with the lcd... i intend to replace it...but will the dealer want to replace it with the new one or just fix it?? Sounds like a dead pixel. IIRC someone in this thread had the same problem and HP service centre at Bukit Damansara replaced the laptop for him. Or was it just the screen... can't remember. Better go there fast. Make sure that it's really a dead pixel.

QUOTE(nakTT @ Dec 16 2008, 09:44 AM) HP made it really troublesome for XP users. I would rather wait for everything for XP to settled down before migrate from my Vista. HP did not make it troublesome for XP users because there's no official XP support to begin with. So it's more like "those who insist on installing XP, even after knowing that there's no official support, are asking for problems". Anyways after some tweaks, Vista rocks.

My 125AX also has that 'Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver' in device manager. Weird huh?

Yes I have. In fact it's my third BIOS update. Mine is 125AX btw. Out of the box: F03. Then flash to F21> F22> F33A
It appears as it should on CPU-Z.
faiz_since86, perhaps you can show us a picture of your tilted screen (in order to align the webcam properly)?

Hmmmmm. Original disc? Or did you use a cheap disc to burn a pirated copy of Windows Vista downloaded from the internet at high speed?

QUOTE(Synco @ Jan 4 2009, 11:31 AM) how do i copy the partition that contains my vista restore? i tried acronis but they dont seems to allow hdd cloning frm big to small http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=120228QUOTE MAYBE it's already on your hard drive: Your manufacturer MIGHT have copied the contents of the Anytime Upgrade DVD directly onto the hard disk of the computer (sometimes in a hidden folder called "WAU"). The problem is that you cannot directly burn this to a DVD and then boot from it to do a clean install -- you first need to burn the files as a bootable DVD in order to use them. To create a bootable DVD from these files:
1. Download, install, and run vLite 2. Select the location with the WAU folder 3. Select your vista version 4. Select the ISO button and make the ISO - you can create an image or directly burn to DVD.
Now you should have a bootable Anytime Upgrade DVD you can use for a clean install. Thanks to seven11 for the steps. (Note: You can do a lot of other things with vLite too, but avoid messing with other things in there until you know what you are doing with it). Here are some places you might find the folder on your system:
* C:\Windows\sonysys\wau (hidden folder) * Please let me know where you found it on your system!

When I bought mine I knew it's a 'DIY set' as you eloquently put it because it comes with FreeDOS. And I knew it's meant for Vista, that's why I didn't insist on using XP.
Using Vista Ultimate x64, no problems till now. Installed Adobe Master Suite CS3, COD4, all those IM programs, video converters, Nero and whatnot.

Not sure about the sound part, but the brightness control will be crippled if you use XP.
What games do you intend to play?
