QUOTE(shady @ Feb 19 2009, 09:47 PM) Yup Vista 32bit with latest Catalyst 9.1 modded with mobility modder. I dont think driver affects the GPU original clock speed. of course default clock speed is 500Mhz. what we're (me & other guy) talking about is max clock speed being only 250Mhz.

QUOTE(Zibel @ Feb 20 2009, 02:13 AM) Could it be a problem with GPUZ reading incorrectly, have you tried checking with something else ? yep. both Everest and GPU-Z reporting the same reading whole time. 110Mhz while idle and 249Mhz while playing 3D games

1. due to CQ40 design, putting notebook cooler won't help much. 2. CPU - motherboard sensor outside processor, CPU1/CPU2 - processor sensor inside its core.

QUOTE(sordanny @ Feb 26 2009, 01:44 PM) can somebody pls answer my question.... thanks i'm confused here.... Is this AMD Turion™ X2 Dual-Core Mobile Processor RM-72 an AMD "Puma" processor???? or is it an older generation one?????? i'm seriously considering to buy thisOMG, it's freaking annoying. you clearly can't differentiate between a platform and a processor code name, still you insist on giving a damn about it. it's a processor for Puma platform but its code name is Lion (Turion Ultra)

QUOTE(dragonajie @ Mar 3 2009, 10:34 AM) i just called HP on their Astro promotion, they cite the model number offered as CQ40-307AU, but gave me 115AU specs instead. can someone tell me what processor is 307AU using, and how big is the HDD? for RM1450, it's pretty attractive. http://www.notebookspec.com/notebook/1866-...036;AKL%5D.htmlchange Intel with AMD and you get yourself a 307AU spec. pretty lame i'd say. but it's almost the same with 115AU. QUOTE(dragonajie @ Mar 3 2009, 11:11 AM) but there's still radeon hd3200? its rm1450 vs rm 1900 between 307AU and 310AU,. RM450 difference in price, and the only spec different i see so far is HDD size of 90GB (250GB to 160GB). it's a pretty good deal, non? non? don't know what astro tried to pull there.

QUOTE(Bad Cyborg @ Mar 5 2009, 11:23 AM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Gaming isn't just Alienware's exclusive right. Many other brands make gaming notebooks that can more than handle next gen games (with the rare exception of GTAIV of course). Even Acer has a few models that gets the job done. (I'm not even a fan of Acer.) I don't understand the logic behind outrageously priced notebooks, especially gaming notebooks. Think about it. Gamers don't go out of their house. They eat, sleep and defecate games, where do they have time to go anywhere? Hence they have big hunks of junk in their house with liquid cooling and everything, to protect their investment against blowing up. People who carry notebooks are practically transients who either have to jet out of the country at a moment's notice, or they can't pay the bills so they get evicted from their house. Either ways, these people can't afford the time needed for games. So, gaming notebooks? It's a mystery to me. not all gamers are loser like how you generalize it above. some have job. mystery solved
