I went to the SIS warehouse sale at Glenmarie today. Touch Pro is going for RM3099 with 1 free spare original battery. Apparently its worth RM240. Add RM68 for 1 year extra warranty on the TP and Jabra handset. No free memory card though. In Low Yat, I think the price is around RM2999 with an 8 GB card - is that right?

What do you guys think of the offer? I'm thinking of getting it tomorrow. I was comparing with Xperia launching this weekend but I think the Xperia doesn't support Blackberry Connect which I need.

Isn't the new spare battery a genuine freebie? Normally people who throw warehouse sales try to throw in some genuine goodies for early birds so that the next time there's they hold a warehouse sale there will be more interest from the public. It's just that you have to go there to figure out if the genuine goodie is attractive to you.

How do you get the Blackberry Connect on a Touch Pro??? hmm.gif

Blackberry Connect is a Windows Mobile program that enables the Blackberry service on a WM device. You download BC, then use ActiveSync to transfer it to your device. You then have to subscribe for the BB service from Maxis, then go to the Blackberry website to enable the service. Then your WM device will have the BB push email service enabled. BB Connect definitely works on the 838 pro and Tytn II.

The only problem with 838 pro and Tytn II (and prob Touch Pro) is that these devices only allow the radio to be used for one program at a time. So if you browse on Internet explorer on your device, this will disrupt the BB service and sever the push email service. On my 838 pro, most of the time, after browsing, have to restart the device or turn the phone on and off to get the BB service started again. For that reason, a Blackberry Bold for example gives a smoother overall experience, but I'm still keen on the TP because it has (1) better resale value and (2) a touch screen (3) a bigger screen that the B Bold.

According to what I have read so far on the net, the Sony Xperia doesn't support BB Connect.

Bro-that's what I was quoted if I purchase a Touch Pro. Not sure if you can just purchase the extended warranty on its own.
