hello ppl,

New Touch Pro user reporting in.

Here's my short summary for the phone after using it for approx a week.

Fav features,
- Screen Reso (my fav feature)
im totally in love with the reso output of the TP, totally sharp and awesome, i love browsing with it on the go, despite having smaller fonts, but webpages are much more viewable. LYN can be browsed without sweat.

- Slideout Keyboard
the keyboard is really usefull, by far, one of the best slideout kb ive used on PDAs. Though the keys are small, ive got no problem navigating over it with my big thumbs, the keys has a solid feel to it, theres 1 problem though, the slide part gets annoyed sometimes when the TP is used without it, when you hold the phone, you will feel the slight slide-motion which gives you a very insecure feeling. For ppl like me who wipes the screen alot (fingerprints), you should get what i mean...

- Audio/Video
The display quality is great no doubt, plays video perfectly though it a little on higher reso. The speakers are quite disappointing though... well.. maybe coz im used to SE phones speakers.

- GPS
the gps is handy at times, im always on the run and at times i need to go places im not familiar with, so far the GPS never failed me yet. (using mapking btw)

All in All,
By far, ive never encountered any of the reported problems. All features and functions works flawlessly. The TF3d is nice too, makes navigating the TP more interesting and is not much different from a normal phone which is good.

This is one of the most features packed phone ive ever owned, as well as the most expensive one. The aesthetic features are great too. No Regrets getting the TP..... yet..

Added on October 31, 2008, 1:27 pmbtw... yes the batteries life is pretty disappointing.

well... mine last me only for 1 day...
actually, its quite acceptable.

maxtek has got a point of comparing ppc with a standard cell. 1 day is pretty good for someone like me hardcore wi-fi-ing and messing around alot(coz its still new lol). I doubt any lappie can last that long hahaha.

its really fun playing around with the features, lots of other stuff to tweak too. Performance boost is really noticeable after applying the tweaks as on the first post.

and.... overclocking is long gone for me, it consumes lots of time and patience, which is something i cannot spare right now haha.

the charger is indeed compatible IMO, reason for this, the in-car charger that i bought for my TP has a label that mentioned few models from HTC AND motorola too.

Hey max, got my problem figured out in my previous pm to you.

Btw, just finished browsing xda-developers.com, its definately a site not to be missed by any TP users here, great info and apps, loads of themes and UI customizations too.

my itech radio comes with detachable ear pieces that uses standard 3.5mm jacks... can switch to other earpieces if putus.

here's another tips for TP user here  brows.gif

4 column program icons in your TP

The simple registry edits needed are as follows:

use any registry editor : In HKLM\Software \ Microsoft \ Shell \ Add a New Key and named it “IconConfig”

In there add DWORD Value:

“HorizontalIconSpacing” Decimal value = ”112″
“VerticalIconSpacing” Decimal value = ”115″
“IconTitleFontSize” Decimal value = ”6″

Note : you can play around the dword value to suit your preference..... icon_rolleyes.gif

LOL !!!!

i thought i noticed something was different about the menu when i flashed my TP to PROven rom... then after seeing ur post above... i noticed that the rom menu came by 4 collumn by default sweat.gif

btw, had my first experience flashing TP few days ago... loving it more than ever, performance improvement was significant over stock rom. Though i only tried 2 roms currently, ROMeOS and PROven, i personally love proven.

Another fun app would be wisbar 3.. however, i find it rather buggy, whenever the sync option appear, the taskbar will be stucked with the sync UI, anyone experiencing this? or anyone using an app similar to wisbar 3? love the interface, try search for ZIFI them for Wisbar, its awesome =D

ive upgraded from class 2 to class 6 and yes, the difference is significant if you run an application that is installed in your memory card. Btw, i think the memory card price is quite expensive... i got my 8GB class 6 for only RM12x...

IS is a pretty huge disappointment... due to the cutout shape, its nearly impossible to get a perfect cover. you will notice it is there at a glance and its NOT invisible. After waiting anxiously for it to arrive after MOQ met, i installed it, and throw it away an hour later. The cadpase screen protector works fine and comes with the cover for the front panel as well.
