I'm very glad to have found this topic - on pantyhose. I've been spending a fortune buying pantyhoses at about RM 19 - 25 per pair from shops. The sales person claims that it can fit the largest hips and longest legs. My torso is shorter compared to my legs, thus it takes a long pair of pantyhose to fit. Being tall for an Asian lady (179cm) and with a large frame (80kg and hips size 40 inches), you will understand that it is a big challenge to find stockings that fit me in Malaysia.
When I visit the US, I'll stock up on brands like Hanes or Hue. They are pricey but sometimes when you find them on sale or at the clearance bin, it is definitely worth buying, given my circumstance. After going through this thread, I visited progressive socks and bought a dozen of the R3295 and a couple of the R3313 and R3312 to try. Here's my experience :-
R 3295 in 209; glossy finish but very elegant when I wear to the office. The shade suits my skin perfectly looking very natural. All my colleagues were keen as well! However, despite the specifications on all the packs M-XL (150 - 180 cm) and waist is 85 - 110 cm, I must say that it takes a lot of pre-stretching before it truly fits. If not, the waistband drops to my hips after a few minutes.
Because the material is so sheer (and thin), pre-stretching causes the seams at the crotch to tear easily. By mid day, I'll notice a 20 sen size hole at the crotch. Thankfully, it is such a strategic location because no one can see it! But I figured it is worth it for me to buy more than a dozen on wholesale price. Unfortunately it is only good for 1 use. By the end of the day, the hole widens to a diameter of 2 inches. Definitely can't wear a 2nd time.
R3313 in 208; less glossy compared to the above (could it be due to the shade?) and the length is at least 1-2 inches shorter (QC problem?). More pre-stretching is required. Material just as sheer and thin as R3295, but this one is sheer all the way to the waist. Additional reinforcement at the waistband (maybe cos already sheer to top) and yes, tears at the crotch; larger tear than the 3295 perhaps due to the vigorous pre-stretching. Love this as I can wear my side slit skirts but not showing the regular pantyhose line when I'm seated.
R3312 in 208; similar to 3313 but has additional thong shaped cloth panel at the crotch to waist area. Maybe it doubles up for people who do not wish to wear underwear. Length wise same as 3313. Also vigorous pre stretching needed. Mini skirts, no problem.
I just wish to give you ladies (and gentlemen) an idea of the fit coming from the perspective of a large frame tall lady. While earlier posts may claim that the R3295 is very stretchable, my experience has been far from it. Yes, stretchy but not too much due to thin material. The Japanese brands I buy from Isetan L-LL is far more stretchable and their pack says fits up to 103cm waist. The material is only slightly thicker compared with R3295. So caveat emptor.
My wishlist : R3313 of R3312 in shade 209 glossy that stretches like the Isetan Japanese stockings. That would be my ideal pantyhose. In fact, went to their shop today to restock and they didn't stock the 209 shade! I suppose the 208 is OK but does look a little darker on me. I had to settle for # 208 R3295 and R3312.
Seems Mr Khong did not order the 209 shade. Strange when there is a high demand for this shade. I think he is too cautious by bringing in only the 208 and black. What about charcoal gray and dark brown? Compared to the black, charcoal gray is a much more elegant shade, in my opinion.
agree with you that charcoal grey is a much more elegant shade, which are hardly be found around shops selling pantyhose in Malaysia. When I visit the US, I'll stock up on brands like Hanes or Hue.
