Hi guys, am searching for a new headset/earphone to be use with my iPhone 3G,

any recommendation?

I am looking for something that is price similar or cheaper to the 2 headset below..

V-moda vibe duo
UE Super.fi 4vi

which one is better and is there any other good headset/earphone that i should look at?

I made a wire that can fit inside the iphone and can plug any speaker or headphone.

iPhone 3G speaker jack is 3.5mm, so unlike iPhone i don't need "wire" mod that u mention to fit any 3.5mm speaker or headphone jack......

I've tried the MM50, didn't really like it. Maybe it's just me, never been a fan of in-ear earphones. Didn't take/make any phonecalls with it, so can't comment much other than the fact that it wasn't a comfortable fit for me.

(tried a unit belonging to a Friend. Don't get disghusted, cleaned it very very thoroughly before & after)

I'm afraid I'm the wrong person to ask when it comes to these in-ear 'phones. I've the Vibe Duo, but ever since I got it on for the first time, I've since then slipped it back into its leather slipcase, and not use it. Been using the DR-BT50 but in conjunction with the NWZ-A829 and only DR-BT50 to answer phonecalls from the iPhone. At home, it's the SEP-10BT.

String, how is the quality of DR-BT50 mic? I found comment from all over the net to be mixed, some said it is good while some complain if there are background noise, the other person on the other end might not be able to hear it clearly if not nothing at all (Just noise).

i m assuming the iphone 3g's audio processor is the same as ipod touch's...
i'd suggest u to give westone um2 a try...
ive been using it with my ipod touch...but havent tried it on my iphone...
the sound is clear...and the bass has nice reflex...
and like audiophiles say....the sound stage is very wide....
in short....it's nice....and the fit is better than UE's....

I use stocks and its fine for me kekekeee...

P/S: Money savings But to have one like V-Moda is gooood! My b'day is just around d corner and i dont think i will get one (Just incase my gf read this)

Senang saja boss, While I'm out and about, use the BT stereo headphones, the BT headphone listen to songs from BT Sony Walkman, and it also pairs with the Aifontriji for answering calls. When calls come, it automatically fades the song streaming from the BT Walkman, and and call finishes, it comes back up. When at home, music is either streamed from the Macbook or BT Walkman again, to the Sony Rolly. Excellent speakers on the Rolly btw.

Works fine with me. Initially I need to adjust the volume since the music playback and the call answering volumes are two different things, but once adjusted, they work. The mic, understandably, is using the projected throw design, since it does not have any protruding receiver end, so it could be weaker in transmission and clarity compared to traditional BT headsets that have elongated mic end. But it works fine with me.

Aliph Jawbone is heartily recommended by me, test-driven this while I was in NYC at Apple Fifth Avenue. Excellent noise-cancelling ability, the recepient of your calls will thank you for it. It also helps that the unit itself looks awesome!

Apple BT is more onto styling, but not much on features. The call quality is decent/average, but the styling is typical Apple, minimalistic and elegant.

Fits nice and snug. Shouldnt be a problem for any face shapes.

I'm safe then, since the BT headphones I'm using looks NOT like a typical headset. People would just assume I'm a music addict only.

Just placed an order for super.fi 4vi, hope it'll be good

the reasons i opt for super.fi 4vi is bcoz
1. Voda vibe seems to have some reliability issue according to the reviews on apple store
2. Voda vibe is good on bass, while super.fi 4vi are more well balanced and have a higher frequency coverage (i read it somewhere)
3.price wise, both are priced at 199NZD in apple NZ online store, but it seems that super.fi 4vi actually cost more, according to iLounge Voda vibe duo cost USD 101, while UE Super.fi 4vi cost USD 150.

vibe duo seems to be over priced in apple site, try to get it around 100USD, as that is the actual price...or wait for the new apple in-ear earphone, seems promising with the double driver, as compared to Voda vibe duo and super.fi 4vi's single driver... and it is cheaper as well

hey psyeo, mind giving us an overall review of the super.fi 4vi? it's one of the earphones that's on my shortlist.

so far what i have in mind is westone um2 + shure mpa-3c phone adapter OR shure l2c-m OR the super.fi 4vi. while the westone+shure combination would certainly FREAKING ROCK the audiophile in me, having two separate pieces of audio solution would be a hassle i would imagine.

i got a quote from a fren of mine... vibe duo at Rm300.. new~ but i put it on hold.. and wait for 2Driver apple in ear earphone....

not much of a audiophile myself, haha, cant give any good reviews, but the Super.fi 4vi really lack in bass, i give it a 4/10, the overall details of the sound is around 8/10...

u can wait for the Super.fi 5vi (coming in October), which are said to be better than Super.fi 3 & 4 in terms of bass production. Might consider selling this 4vi, if the review for the new apple in-ear earphones is good. or if my broken X3i get replaced by Mylarone Bijou

xandman, you should buy the shure mpa-3c to add mic functionality. I've found one on eBay for around $50 plus shipping, which is kinda pricey. I still haven't decided to go which route yet; all-in-one audio/mic headset or the combination of 2 uberquality mic+earphone.
