just got from singapore and showered, unpacked everything etc. will update my so called life changing experience later; need to get some rest first. a very complicated story but extremely worth listening (i hope?  )
to cut things short, got myself the 8gb version (black version a.k.a. fingerprint magnet) for 1000 sing dollars (my dollar ringgit conversion was 2.4). a brand new unit, with a receipt tabulating the purchase date and a nice seller (who kept his promise). double checked the part numbers as well (found here) to confirm the origin of the unit too.
thanks a lot to louismhc (sorry for not being able to meet up as you were busy collecting your white baby as well) and stringfellow (before he boarded his flight to mumbai). oh yeah corvinux, when i got your text, i was actually passing the money to the seller

got mine too last friday. officially unlock unit.  But i didn't know how to put cydia or installer . so, i pawned it all night long , didn't sleep till Sahor drool:
Got cydia and 3rd party apps installed. Love it. But couldn't really figure out how to make use of the GPS yet.

yeah, tried, tested and tasted. doesn't fit unfortunately.
however if it does fit, i don't think that i will be giving away the extra dock anyway. ha ha
