syphonic give us a slow and soft flushing feeling...more commonly used in hotel. At home flushdown will be more practical.. the syphonic type can't really give the entire bowl's edge a clean flush...only if your 'droppings' drops exactly into the middle (the pool of water), if it sticks somewhere else you would need to clean them separately... I'm talking from past experience..
