Okay.
I did googled about it.
QUOTE
* No video calls over the 3G network
* The handset wobbles on hard even surfaces
* There are a number of messaging downers
* Camera has no auto focus, nor video recording… nor any settings at all
* Safari browser doesn’t support Flash and Java, doesn’t have a download manager
* Bluetooth support limited to headset use only (no A2DP or file transfers)
* No office document editor
* No copy/paste functionality
* You cannot sync Notes and TO-DOs
* No memory card slot

But still , for those aifontriji owners, can you guys list out some of its disadvantages that really tick you off ?

Strongly agree. The UI is the best i've seen so far. Even HTC Diamond TouchFlo is no match for it.

Seems like this thread is getting no success...more and more iphone 3G supporters "protesting" thumbup.gif

I guess the lack of file transfer using BT is the major factor that cause a lot of potential iphone 3G buyers back off...but again, strongly agree that the UI is the best among all now... thumbup.gif

no single hand sms?

i find it hard to answer call when driving. have to take out from pouch one hand, then, "slide to answer".

unlike most touchscreen device will only need to touch one point.

Added on September 7, 2008, 12:49 amwell i also don't like the word "aifon"..

iphone looks more nicer.

When you really start using it... I think LOVES will more than HATES afterall.
Trust me... You will say so after u use it.
Oh ya... Back to your question, the Hate about Aifontriji is that.... I'm STILL not an iPhone user tongue.gif

@cladmania
I don't think by far other touch screen's keyboard is as good as iPhone !
It's extremely good and you can type it very fast as like you were on computer's keyboard ! One word only can describe it is "AMAZING" !

Is there any chance of releasing an application that can manage and transfer files via Bluetooth ? I wonder.

@gengstapo,
The original SMS doesn't allow U to forward messages. It also doesn't allow MMS.

The one other thing I don't like about the iPhone 3G is that it's a finger-print magnet!!!

BT cant send and receive file but last time i think there a third party application that can make you transfer song from your iphone using wifi only, but it was firmware 1.14 etc, dont know either have for 2.0 or not.

I think MagicPad copy and paste works only within the apps itself. Can't really copy or paste anything to another app yet..

Just some info on OpenClip which has the copy and paste function framework. Check out the link below.

OpenClip - non-profit, open-source, community-effort project, which promotes a framework for the iPhone that allows users to copy / paste between participating applications.

I think one of the main reasons BT been disabled for file transfer is because of piracy issues esp with song transfers.

lol, agreed. i might be slow or something, but it took me a minute too long to figure what people are talking about, thus i hated 'aifontriji'. plus it gets annoying after a while, imo anyway.

i guess i might be a simpler user than others as i don't really need a phone that does everything, but does what it can, well. in regards to the iphone, a few simple additions would make it perfect to me...

- copy/paste
- flash content on the web browser
- viewable videos from sources other than youtube (this would be a dream capability as i watch video blogs A LOT)
- sms/notes & other keyboard-heavy tasks available in horizontal mode
- podcast download, preferably through itunes store or as an independent app (again, i listen to podcasts A LOT)
- video capture
- a2dp (being able to listen to songs using wireless bluetooth earphones)

that's all...for now

- copy/paste      * Already in Apple's list but not a priority*
- flash content on the web browser      * They are working on their own version called sproutcore. Still in testing. *
- viewable videos from sources other than youtube (this would be a dream capability as i watch video blogs A LOT)    * They already have an agreement with YouTube so ... errr ... u know the rest*
- sms/notes & other keyboard-heavy tasks available in horizontal mode      * Not sure about that. Again maybe not their top priority *
- podcast download, preferably through itunes store or as an independent app (again, i listen to podcasts A LOT)    * itunes store in the phone is not the final version. They might include it later. Again with the priority *
- video capture        * Cycorder from saurik in Cydia *
- a2dp (being able to listen to songs using wireless bluetooth earphones)      * That can kill the iphone battery within few hours *

that's all...for now

- No SMS forwarding (Hated this fact since the first gen iPhone days... How difficult could this be, Apple?)
- No note syncing (Currently using Evernote, which is pretty neat but would be great if notes in the native Notes application is synced to the comp)

Not interested in Jailbreaking anymore as there's the AppStore, so workarounds by using apps from Cydia/etc are not an option.

Oh yes, I also don't quite agree with the way the iPhone 3G is commonly spelled/referred to in this sub-forum. People made a fuss about the iPod Touch being called the iTouch; so I believe I could make a fuss about the iPhone 3G being spelled the way most people here are spelling it. Improper spelling makes it difficult for people new to the forum to search for topics/posts related to the device.

My take on the deficiencies of the Aifontriji is currently on the software side. specifically the iTunes. I've several instances where the backup feature simply gave up on it, and the Aifontriji jumped to the Apple logo and stays there. Why this happened, would most probably tied in with the current state of bugginess of iTunes. Yes, it happened on a Mac, I'm using one. could be contributed to several factors, like me having apps spread across 7 pages, and also having tons of webapps as well.

Other gripes on the Aifontriji are no cut and paste, and the Aifontriji's current weak 3G signal acquisition. Both should be rectifiable via software means. Hardware-wise, I see the Aifontriji as an upgrade, with smooth looks and metal buttons. But with that smooth looks, comes the responsibility of making sure it stays that way, hence the almost OCD-like need to carry a polishing cloth and polishing it to a mirror shine. Maybe it's just me.laugh.gif

Aifontriji, just throwing that word out again to accentuate its mirthful nature. Anyone getting miffed over something as trivial as this, clearly needs to take a chill pill.

The most dire feature is.......

Undo feature.

Many times I'm typing some very important numbers or letters or some things to rectify that end up with an extra letters added. And then when I want to delete it, I accidentally tap too many times and whoosh the letters go missing.

My very old Palm Zire 21 has a lovely cut and paste (across multiple application k?) and has a fully working Undo feature. Which is why I am still using it (and with apps with data older than Britney...). So Apple...why?

The only gripe that i have with iPhone is the SMS

1. Foward msg
2. Send business cards
3. The ability to delete single msg only and not the entire conversation

I know there have 3rd party app for this but it would be good if apple implement this themselves.

I though iPhone already got the function to delete entire conversation right?
Click the "edit" button when you're at text messages, then a red icon will show up next to the conversation, just click it and tab the "delete" button on the other side.

For me is where the SMS system is really i hate, can't save any msg i needed (there is a 3rd party software needed to pay 5 euro, but i do wish apple will came up firmware with SMS support like old phone (aka standards phone SMS features) As well as the MMS

Other than that, i don't think i go any much complain with it.

Also, hate it when Iphone don't have maps for navigation, all must DL, eat my $$

Thats becoz the phone was targeted for unlimited data usage.

@nokia2003
I know but for me its more to passwords or bank account or such sensitive stuff.

Added on September 14, 2008, 4:26 pmBtw there's an app for jailbroken phone to store offline map. Its in Cydia if i'm not mistaken.

my only problem is that its such a high end fone, but they dint include some features like video call...

so for me, its video call, limited bluetooth, video recording, and copy-paste (altho this has not effected me... YET!)...

with that said... i still love my iPhone!

yeah but need to sign contract mah, in US it's expensive i think, i think around USD$60 per month, X3.45 around RM200 already. so say 1 year contract 12months xRM200 = RM2400 + USD$199 (around RM700) = RM3100...

in sg also same. i checked the price, S$800 for iphone with S$25 per month, end up around RM3400.

of course for those who buy straight without using the plan = expensive. for SG people consider cheaper.

that's why i'm waiting for maxis to bring in, so i can pay less for the phone while still maintaining my regular phone bill. smile.gif
