This is crazy man. I'll be the first to port if this is available for porters too. After all I don't see what's the reason they are only offering this for new numbers. Isn't selling more prepaid packs the same as getting more people to jump ship?

Still 17 anyway, would have to wait for next year, provided the promotion is still on, which I doubt. Normally crazy offers like this one only last for a while.

Do you have a brother? Register on his behalf then. The rates are really... I have nth to say...its too good!!
*
Will the rates last until I turn 26? I'm thinking of getting one, but I have only one phone, which I rarely use it as a phone though (rarely call and sms) unsure.gif

P/s: It says there will be a RM3 charge per month on Celcom's website. Still reasonable in my opinion, else Celcom will be getting nuts with such rates and long active period.

Is there any fee for UOX yet for now? Like, RM3 per month despite your usage as per listed on their website:

QUOTE
Celcom reserves the right to charge a subscription fee of RM3/mth for  special rates and features under this Program. After the implementation of such subscription fee, Celcom reserves the right to terminate the features andrates in whole or in part if the customer does not agree to pay the subscription.

Since we can MNP to UOX now, I'm not sure to go for Digi or Celcom.

Damn, I just realize that I'm still 17, have to wait for next July before I can go for UOX. Probably Celcom would have canceled it by that time?

If I go for SOX now, will it be converted to UOX automatically once I reach 18? If no, can I convert to UOX manually?

erm, i notice at their website.. maxis/digi/umobile users may now port their number to celcom UOX/SOX..

so, my question is.. if 012/014/016/017/018 allowed to switch to UOX/SOX with their original number, why 013/0148/019 user cannot convert their number to UOX/SOX? its not fair to current celcom users.

or it can now?

One solution, which is to port out to any other operator and port in back tongue.gif

What? Wouldn't that be somewhat risky? I suppose a Celcom branch will do it the proper way instead?

Just ported to S.O.X this afternoon, now waiting for the sms to change the sim card. Hope it will be hassle-free, especially the validity problem.

My porting succeeded. My Hotlink line was cut off before the sms to inform me to change sim card arrive, so it only arrive after I've changed the sim card.

The validity is until a month after now. I've notice many have complaint previously on the validity issue. If I'm not mistaken, I should wait a little for things to update. Or things are not right if the validity is not right at the first place?

Added on November 4, 2008, 12:06 amMy validity just got updated just now. It's up to my 26th birthday even I'm on S.O.X instead of U.O.X, but that's a good thing.

*
Yup, Celcom branch. Port on Tuesday, line activate on Saturday, validity updated on the following Monday night smile.gif

What's UOX/SOX charging block by the way? Is it 20 or 30 seconds? I'm charged 8 cents for a 14 seconds call.

I guess the charging block for UOX/SOX is as follow:

First 30 seconds: 8 cents
Second 30 seconds: 7 cents
Subsequent 20 seconds: 5 cents

This is concluded after I'm being charged 8cents for a 14 seconds call, 15cents for a 52 seconds call and 23cents for a 1.04 minute call.

wrong maths dude.

They will just round up the 0.5 sen to the nearest sen. If you call within a 30s block, you will be charged 7.5 sen, but rounded up to 8.0 sen. If 60 s block will be 15 sen.

your case of 1.04 min is considered 90 second block ... so celcom will charge you 22.5 sen.. but rounded up to 23 sen...

Ops, my bad.

Tell you what, I still receive HotlinkGift despite ported to Celcom a week ago. This is getting me crazy, any idea how can I stop that particular lousy company from spamming me?

If it says it's on UOX's tariff then her UOX is still active.
