I did my application to port yesterday(friday), today (saturday) i got a message saying that ' Your celcom port request has been rejected by your previous service provider. ' terrible!!!

what is MCMC? I also want to complain...
*
Make sure it's not your fault before complaining. Postpaid or prepaid? Number under your name? Any outstanding bills?

I am wondering Why my porting has no news at all!
But after I come here online realize that I am not the only one
I am using Hotlink(Prepaid) and port to Celcom UOX on 1st December.
Until now no news at all. Should I complain to MCMC?
Or I should visit celcom branch ?
*
Porting can take up to 5 (working, maybe) days. I suggest wait for a few days more to see how it goes.

has anyone successfully ported to uox/sox in a blue cube outlet yet?
do they have the simcards for porting yet?

So you're still stuck with Hotlink after all these while? unsure.gif

I'll be back to my hometown in Bentong, Pahang for CNY. Anyone knows if there's any 3G coverage there?

Also, how do I use my N82 + Celcom 3G to online on my laptop? If possible, without the use of PC Suite, it sucks. Sometimes it'll detect my phone, sometimes not.

bentong got celcom 3g coverage since 2nd quarter last year.. (HSDPA signal only available at town centre, while 3G signal available at the rest of the town and nearby area).

more info, visit http://myblog.qubixdesign.com/2008/11/17/h...gprs-coverages/

*what a nice co-incident, the example screenshot of the 3g map is actually showing bentong map lol  laugh.gif

about the modem, i think you can try connect internet using BlueSoleil software.. where u can dial internet directly via bluetooth connection. (but your PC/laptop must have bluetooth device - either built in or external device)
*
BlueSoleil is a commercial software. Thanks for the map though, hope I can figure out how to connect in a week's time, then I can bring my lappy and online there. RM8 per day right? tongue.gif

I've followed a guide and set up a dial-up connection to make my N82 a modem. A few questions:
  • RM8 per day, from the moment I activate the service then expires exactly 24 hours later?
  • What's the speed?
  • After activating the RM8 per day, no matter how I connect to the internet it won't charge extra? I'm afraid going into the wrong mode then got charged per kb.

To activate the daily broadband, send broadband to 28882, then send again broadband daily to 28882? Googled that, but just to confirm.

Having no expiry is what tempted me to switch over since it won't expire until I'm 25 years old. laugh.gif

Calling for 2 minutes on UOX is cheaper than calling for 1 second on Hotlink. It's no-brainer to choose.

Is there a way to have an unlimited data plan to be integrated into UOX, except the daily and weekly plan? I can't unleash my phone's fullest potential without an unlimited data plan, but no way I'm gonna ditch my UOX just for that.

postpaid maxis to prepaid celcom... really possible?

Added on May 11, 2009, 11:44 pmAlso, i read from somewhere that if you port your number to UOX, you credit will only be valid for a month instead of till 26 years old... Is that true?

Or maybe izit like it'll take 1-2 weeks to update...
*
I was using Maxis postpaid under my mom's principal line. Went to convert to Hotlink and change the ownership back to my name. Then I port to UOX. No problem.

Until you're 26 years old, took only several days for my expiry to be updated, 3 days after the new sim card is activated if I'm not mistaken. Seeing is believing:

Yeah, you can port any number, just make sure to pay your bills first if you are Digi Postpaid user. I took my Digi Prepaid 010-9090xxx and ported to UOX. No problem at all. Btw, my Digi Prepaid was only like 1-2 weeks old before i ported it.

The only problem with 010 is you cant register for UOX Play because they dont have 010 in their drop down menu!

What's UOX Play for, anyways? Just for concerts and stuff like that?

Celcom seems to have start its sms spam, after all these while of peace. Is there any way to block it, like how Digi allows its users to?
