Will try that...it could be as i used the 'Dynamic' mode for the pictures setting in my R8..

default 'Dynamic' Settings are

Contrast - 100 (Full)
Brightness - 45
Sharpness - 75
Colour - 55

Any sifu care to give personal setting preference?

Edited: End of Days are running now at Star Movies..if good then buy the BD hehehe...forgot how the movie was

ok here is how this setting works jep, we use this tv settings to enhance / make better / upgrade , our viewing experience. the thing with Bluray is, its running at 1080p.. max of what most tvs can do now.. therefore, since all pixels is filled up edi in blurays, there is no need to use 'sharpness' anymore as sharpness can only make the image worse off since there is nothing to intepret and enhance in terms of pixels anymore.

this goes for every other 'special' functions the tv can do.. like drc/wideccolor/edge enhancer/noise reduction/gamma correct/white/contrast adjuster/bla bla, all this will be pointless to activate for bluray movies as the movie is considered 'perfect' already. only thing u have to be concern about is the Main settings, i.e. contrast/brightness/color/backlight/color temp/and if u can the RGB balance..

now, this is different if we're talking about source other than Blurays, like say astro. now this is not perfect source, therefor u will need to activate and use a number of the tv's software like the drc/edge enhance/sharpness/noise/gama/bla bla.

the 'dynamic' settings to me sounds like a showroom option. go for 'movie' if there is that option available if for bluray

Thanks for the tips bro...anyway the tv have a 'Movie' mode...but somehow the image becomes a bit smooth and too soft for my liking. maybe i need to play around a bit with the contrast and brightness..

ah dont worry. the 'movie' mode is just to activate some functions that u cant access in the normal menu. ok. just set it to 'movie' and then continue doing the 'adjustments' .. hmm mind sharing ur tv brand/model? ill do some research on it and hopefully can come back with a calibration setting for u:)
