do update me if that hotfix has solved your problems, or if you encountered a different BSOD msg upon installing of the new 4000 series

i've also had a read on a techie forum where this person is having the same issue with 8.8, then he uninstalled CCC,(catalyst control center) and only installed the display drivers. You might want to give this a try, if your still having the same BSOD msg.
