well more memory is used on the high resolution.
but from several review about the card that use 1gb of memory like the 8800gt and 9600gt the 1gb model is actually slower.

hmm.gif is it the same case with ATi's cards?

well i hope i can c the benchies on the 4870 1GB soon... laugh.gif

it's rly hard to decide whether jz to purchase 512 or 1GB... rclxub.gif

4870 1GB uses a lot more wattage than 4870 512mb? IMO almost the same la for the wattage, plus or minus a bit only.

If you are comparing HD4870 512MB and HD4870 1GB power consumption,

1GB version only consume ~1 watt more than 512MB version at idle,

while ~4 watts more at load (according to the benchmark).

i'm actually comparing it to my 3870 here... sweat.gif

as for these 2 versions, it's not tat much a diff, seeing the extra juice it can pump out laugh.gif
