That's the link I found when searching some stuffs about Furmark tongue.gif.

Manage to find out that CCC8.8 and later cheats on Furmark doh.gif The driver won't allow the GC to run at maximum when running anything named furmark.exe . You guys can try and experiment yourself, do the 1minute benchmark, then do it again with a renamed furmark.exe (eg furmark1.exe). You will notice the difference tongue.gif. Or maybe try renaming games, maybe COD4's exe to furmark.exe. See the results tongue.gif

Palit should yield almost same specs as the 4850GS, they look like the same heatsink, different case. Though I'm quite interested in the MSI's quad heatpipe and also the Colorful with 4 heatpipe's cooling performance.

Aiya, having such stock cooling... but stock clock still lower than 4850GS man tongue.gif. Something tells me this might perform like the Toxic, or maybe a bit better.

Asus' non reference 4850 is err, this?

http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/9105/as...gbdhfx57fu4.jpg

Looks like the Toxic and PCS heatsink design.

But this one from Asus looks really COOL!

http://www.nordichardware.com/image3.php?id=5654

And gigabyte, also using those similiar heatsink design for their non reference model. Why pay more when you can get better clock + better support with GS? biggrin.gif.

btw, what's the price of those units like selling in Malaysia?

Oh, just noticed yours is the reference model. See how lor, ask Netraid for confirmation before switching the cooler. Reference cooler is really lousy ._.

Non reference is what makes the different manufacturers different. Reference card, everyone has the exact same reference design from ATi. Ok, maybe different stickers on the cooler case perhaps..

My choice back then was between HIS ICEQ4 4850 and Gainward 4850GS.

At that time, the specs for both cards also not really finalised. 4850GS was actually 700/1000 back then lol. Then changed to the current 700/1100. The 4850 ICEQ4 coming in was only the normal Turbo and clocked lower than the GS. That's why I picked the GS xD! Didn't care much about the temperature because there was no reviews or whatsoever at that time, but with that kinda size I suppose it should do well.

Another factor was, the GS will be arriving Malaysia earlier, and buying from lehteck did not require me to pay any deposit to order where else buying the ICEQ4 from another trader had to pay deposit to order when the arrival date was not confirmed that time as well.

The cloth too big la! Netraid you need to feedback to them, take a smaller cloth so the top kasi turun sikit, bottom tinggi sikit tongue.gif.

Actually I somehow picked 4850GS by luck tongue.gif, that time no reviews out at all. Only the one by Netraid. Decided to give 4850GS a try, no regrets biggrin.gif. Until now still the fastest factory oc-ed 4850 around hehe.

Could it be some parts of your computer faulty? Try booting with another GC first to see if it works.

Anyone has a detailed picture of the 4850 Custom Cooler? Wanna have a look before deciding
*
Gainward 4850 Custom Cooler? The non golden sample? That model's heatsink don't have heatpipes if I'm not mistaken

Pinjam photo from lehteck's thread, user posted image

I don't think everyone's 4850GS will be like aric's temperature... He is using a CM690 with 7 120mm of those CM silent fans. The black frame and blue led ones, I'm sure the airflow inside is superb >.< Just noticed the newer 4850GS comes with the backplate to help support like the reference cards. My first batch one don't have the backplate behind the chip @@.

mine is 39c.

CM590 with 3x 120mm fan, 1x blowing the GC. 1x in front and 1x on top. smile.gif

i've examined both 4850GS and 4870GS.

the heatsinks are not in contact with the RAM chips.

the nVidia cards on the other hand, had always have something on their RAM chips.

I'll report what my temp like on my case. Mine was about 40c for the first batch. Currently sent back for RMA today.

The silver plate behind, the cross one. Reference design has this, but my 4850GS don't have though.

Does P4 3.0 can support 4850 GS???  unsure.gif

And if the power supply is SLI certified, so is it not suit for using ATI Graphic card???? unsure.gif  unsure.gif
*
Presscott? Definitely going to bottleneck the 4850GS IMO.

No, SLI certified doesn't mean cannot run ATi cards.

zhen^wei, kasi test with furmark stability test. (Using renamed furmark.exe to something like furmark1.exe since ccc8.8 and later was designed to cheat on this stressing program dry.gif)

xpresside, is this available here in Malaysia?

cant wait for Gainward HD4670, took ASUS EAH4670 instead
*
Aiseh, should have waited for Gainward. Worth the wait tongue.gif. EAH4670 has a nice sexy cooler, but the ROG looks nicer xD

QUOTE(Siu_Keong @ Oct 7 2008, 12:25 AM)
Haha i can't test Sapphire 4850 Toxic since no GC in hand now. sad.gif I'm 4670 turbo user mah, so far so good using that card. I also wonder where is the limitation that of 4670 can't use for 24 inch, maybe i only play a little gaming and not so high FPS game, just DMC4 and those C&C game. Now thinking is it worth for me to upgrade, but still wanna know my current rig can support 4850GS. Just want a firm result to confirm yes or not, so my hand won't itchy. tongue.gif
*
Crysis, Warhead, GRID. Meh, DMC4 and C&C don't even strain the GC IMO. Play at your native resolution brows.gif , sure die even with a 4870x2 it is just barely playable on a 24inch.
