speaking about turbo i haven't try out yet haha. been playing race driver GRID on max settings at 1280x1024 4XAA no lag at all ><
CM690..... i wan to sell mine.... it's only 2 months old.. used for 1 month... and switch to cooler master HAF932 but....so far no money....
the problem now is... i got my arctic cooling freezer xtreme and.... if i were to install it... both of my top exaust fan i have to remove... the cooler too big T_T
now using arctic cooling freezer 7 pro..
see a lot of ppl using cooler master Hyper TX2. lol. same design as my freezer 7 pro just that its's a lot taller and got plastic case on it =/ my cheaper counterpart.

i going to turn off my PC and switch to turbo now and see what happens.
so far on normal mode with catalyst 8.9 no problem at all =/

note: golden sample models seems to have less stuff in package. mine only comes with DVI>VGA. DVI>HDMI. CD. Manual. and twin molex to single 6pin PCI-E. was hoping it comes with a 8pin PCIE to 2x 6pin PCIE converter xfire bridge not included also

what is 4870 gs idle temp? my is 60C.

4850 GS even worse.. Same as 4870 GS minus DVI>HDMI dongle.. An efficient cost-saving practice i think.. Go n get urself one what u need rather than everything being supplied n it will end up in the box forever..

my 4870GS i operating at 49-51C idle 565rpm fan speed.
under load never exceed 63C
and under load the fan oso run at 1k RPM only
if set the fan max can get around 7C less

Added on September 25, 2008, 8:28 ami just did some adjustment in my CM690 due to the way 4870GS channel it's hot air
got noticeable 2-3C drop in temperature



with the fan now blowing the hot air out of the case from the side. you can even use it to warm you hand on cold days

GAINWARD 4870 GS IS FINE

To all Gainward 4870 GS users, this card does NOT have any problems related to blackouts during gaming. So if you do encounter blackouts, it's probably due to other reasons (improperly installed drivers, games, OS, loose connectors etc).

Please try to use the latest CCC 8.9 for 4870 GS. Also, switch up to Turbo Mode only when your PC is OFF.
