QUOTE(jasperng @ Nov 3 2008, 11:18 AM) since some of you said that working in australia doesnt get as much as you get in Malaysia, but for the environment, izzit worthy to work there ? ... just need some opinion. My uncle said it is less stressful to work in australia than malaysia... ?? disagree. pay is GENERALLY higher than Malaysia. Stressful? Depends what job you do.Tax is high, as some has pointed out, but your take home pay is still generally higher than what you get in Malaysia. Petrol is still very much cheaper than KL, around 1.35 recently. Can get as high as 1.70 depending again on oil prices obviously. Cost of living is high, and again that depends which city you're living in. Generally, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane is more expensive to live in compared to Perth or Adelaide. And salaries also depend on which state you're working in. Canberra generally paid the highest in OZ because no one wants to work here working environment is pretty good i said. but that is if you're comfortable working with ang mohs, and not Asians in general. |

not to boast around but i was quite lucky to have started on 60p/a. it was pretty good since some of my mates of the same job started out just on 35. yes, night life sucks, but you'll get use to it and it's not a really big deal in the end. food wise - don't compare with KL. and i only eat out on weekends, which isn't that bad afterall.

QUOTE(SeeD @ Nov 4 2008, 11:05 PM) Yeah, I can list to you (Meruchan) many many things that I dislike about this country and you'll be surprised how many things I actually hate. give and take lo - u win some, u lose someAnd mind you I've only been here for 3.5 months. After 3.5 years I might just wish I never studied here I'm not saying this to scare you but if you're coming here because you dislike Malaysia (and you're causing your parents a big burden), then don't bother. Having said that, I also dislike Malaysia and I think I gave my parents quite a big burden but I came here because I have a goal, to study in the best engineering school in Australia (which is UNSW). And I have done that. Then I discovered that ... NOTHING IS BEST. you'll get used to it once you've been here long enuf |
