Eg.

Rental --> $300 per week
Food --> $150 per week
Electricity and gas --> ??
Mobile --> ??
Internet --> ??

Can someone please help me figure out how much would the electric, mobile and internet fees will sum up to? Really need help unsure.gif And if there's anything i miss out please tell me ohmy.gif

my friend who is a chinese looks down/hate china ppl there. so you decide who is worse.

Dont complain to me & i`m not from RMIT.
who ever you are; if you want to be spoon fed with all the info etc; i`m sorry I couldn't help you. Grow up & feed yourself.
*
Firstly, im not even complaining to you.

Secondly, you are Mr/Mrs Nobody to ask me to grow up and feed myself. U know nothing about me.

Thirdly, im here to seek a community to share thoughts together. Not here to receive cold replies. You can just ignore me if you do not wish to give info or reply me. Im not begging.

Booby,

It is best that you know that spoon-feeding/rote learning is not applicable in Australia.

I won't waste explaining in full detail what that means as that'll be just spoon feeding you. You'll understand once you are doing your first assignment.

In the mean time, try to search for things yourself. Google is your friend.

Im already in my second year dude, you think i dunno? Use the search function to seek what im looking for here actually before telling me something which is totally out from what im discussing.

Hilton Petaling Jaya. Near by Asia Jaya LRT.
First when you did you e-visa what kind of communication did you consent too? If you consent via email which is the most fastest way then you will received an email from DIAC informing of your successful student visa application and they will give you a reference's number which is basically your student visa identification something like no. kad pengenalan (Mykad) in Malaysia. Ones you know the number write in down on a sticky paper and stick it at the back of your passport as reference, just in case you have problem during immigration check. Anyway just wait for a few days for the email to arrive.
*
Oh thx laugh.gif . There's a visa number on my status page and i guess that's the one u're referring too icon_rolleyes.gif

I guess i'll have to wait patiently for the email, getting very excited to fly over now laugh.gif

where you staying? hotel?

airport to city will cost around AUD 30-50 depending where you going by cab. not sure of the bus rates.
hotel rates vary depending what you going for. some backpackers only AUD20 some are more.
food around AUD 4-8 for decent meal.
drink around AUD 1-2
tram daily AUD 6 or so not sure if its changed.
*
Yea im going to stay in a hotel for 2 night to search for accomodation.

QUOTE(haya @ Jan 12 2009, 03:32 PM)
I don't see a problem with bringing along A$500 in cash on you. I mean, no one is going to mug you on the plane, and if they do they don't get far. It should get you through the first 2-3 days. Strongly recommend that you open your bank account and start transfers ASAP, preferably after you get your student card for the bank fee waiver.
*
I actually thought of bringing more than AUD500 cause im not sure about the rental deposit over there. Open bank account CoE also can rite? Because my enrolment date is on the 18 feb but im planning to touch down on Melbourne on the 10 to search for accomodation, i dun think my student card is ready.

For rental, some places need 1 month bond and 1 month rental fee. So, it means you need to pay 2 months rental fee. Rent varies according to which area do you stay. Could you tell me which university and area? Sorry, maybe you've been mentioned it before but I already forgotten.
*
Im going to RMIT City Campus smile.gif 2 months rental fee means around AUD2000, so i bring AUD3000 enough rite? I mean this money is to help me survive for one week if i happen to open my bank account later.
