One thing to note is that if you pack them nicely so they appear to be a commercial product you'll have a higher rate of success. They want to prevent people bringing disasters from outside so if you just seal your local food in a transparent plastic bag i don't think that's going to work.

I think it is mostly the people in NSW and WIC that are not that active in this thread. Overall, and according to the data I have seen compiled from Kelab UMNO Queensland (don't know how accurate the data is), the majority of Malaysian's are still in VIC and WA. Of course, it is probably those who have registered with them, so it may not be the true picture, but it should be indicative of the overall distribution.

Food is always a hit and miss issue. Like everything else in this thread, there is no hard rules. I have heard of cases where A can bring in Bak Gua, but B cannot. Ditto for people who have their family send food (!) over. Sometimes the same belacan gets through, sometimes it does not. Just bring if you want, and hope for the best.

And for the love of other Malaysians (and Asians), please do not fight at quarantine. No means no. End of story.

hi guys, can i ask which university would be better? Swinburne, monash or curtin? I dont have much money to study overseas so i would like to opt for those which have campuses in malaysia because they are cheaper.

Do we really need the honours degree when we want to find a job in australia? I heard that it doesnt really matters in australia whether i have honours or not.

i just came back from star education fair and i have applied for swinburne and monash, but most probably will be enrolled into swinburne because they are cheaper. lol

Hi all,

I need open suggestions on what calculator to bring to University(Curtin) for Chemical Engineering. Will the scientific calculators that we use in Form 5(Casio 570 ES - if I remember the model correctly) suffice or do I need to buy those RM 400+ calculators that AusMat/SAM students use.

Thanks in advance

2nd tier, go8, atn universities respectively.......

honours in oz is an extra year, based on research......as a jump off to masters......useless as far as job in the real world is concerned........

i should warn you, getting a degree from one of the 3 oz unis with msian campuses does NOT entitle you to work in oz.........unless at least 2 years was spent onshore in oz itself.........

right to work is an immigration issue NOT a recognised degree issue........

Just used the Grapihic Calculator, used by SAM, very useful for 1st and 2nd year Math's Studies in Uni, really advanced compare to the SPM Calculator. Beside you saved tons of time. I recommend getting a Casio Graphic Calculator, just my opinion.

Casio 570 is sufficient as university did not ask you to buy any specific calculator.

The main thing is you are comfortable with the one you have now.

Im still using the same calculator i got in Form 4.

I don't even know why they use such fancy schmancy calcs when even my fx-350 suffices for all calculations.

And i didn't even pay for it. When my sister went law, i just appropriated it from her.

empire, heading to UQ for engineering right? check with the EPSA faculty and check if your calculator is on the approved list. they started this approved calculator shit 2 weeks before the finals in July.

i've always had the opinion of it doesn't matter what calculator you use, its the user itself that is the more important factor

what stands for atn? which is better, 2nd tier or atn? sorry for this noob question, just curious about it.

I asked an agent that manage all these migration stuffs and he told me that there's another choice which i have to work in malaysia for 1 year and i will be eligible to apply for the pr in australia. He said the points will be enough to apply the pr there.

what if i study in australia for the last 2 years of my course and i intend to work part-time there to cover up my living expenses, including working during summer break as well. Will it be sufficient for the whole 2 years living expenses or i have to fork out my own extra money?

http://www.atn.edu.au/

if you can cope with the demands of the course, and work the full 20hr/week allowed during sem time, and work full time during the vacation breaks, you can earn enough to pay for all your living expenses, if you are careful with your spendings.....

yes, of course anyone can attempt to apply for oz pr.......anytime.......

No 1: stop expecting to be spoonfed. Don't know what ATN is? Put it into Google. Your answer is in the first page. Being a n00b is not a license to be spoonfed.

Yes, getting a Australian degree on Malaysian soil does give your more points for a PR application, but it is far from guaranteed. Frankly, even if you have a Malaysian degree you also can apply.

While it is possible to cover your living expenses working while studying, remember that not everybody can do that. Few people I know can work the 20hrs/week and maintain a high CGPA. If you can good for you, but they are the exception, not the rule.
