live nearer to campus pay more? sweat.gif

If you can afford to go to Melbourne to study, I'm pretty sure a 5% increase, which prolly only translates to approx. 30c to 50c increase in fares won't hurt you much. And come on, your tuition fees increase on average by 10% every year, you don't whine on that and yet you are complaining on this?

For locals, a 5% increase is really insignificant with their concessions, so don't even bother going into that part.

Okay; fair enough about 10 % in tuition fee.It do you good. Dont it?

5% with inefficient PT & cancellation+ sardine pack;late to school; long traveling period- does this  do you good if the price to increase? see the point? wink.gif any good besides being late to school & pay more to lousy services?

If you are from other state in Australia; maybe you don't see the implication of such 5% increase.

Inefficiency is a different story. I was just referring to your point on being the poor unable to afford the 5% increase. Irregardless of its efficiency, if you really can't afford it, it will not make any difference with a price hike on whether it is efficient or not.

FYI, I live in Sydney and if you have been to Sydney, I'm sure you would have noticed that Sydney's public transport is not that much better either, and we do get a price hike in public transport on an almost annual basis as well.

hey guy ..... anyone doing ACCOUNTING in either anu , melbourne or unsw??

i got offer from these universities but dont know which one to choose

anyone me can give me some suggestions ?? thanks a lot ~~  ^^

one more question ----
usually it takes how long to apply & get a student visa ?
*
I'm currently doing commerce in UNSW, so what do you wanna know about? Seriously speaking, no one here would be able to give you a really good insight unless that person has personally went to study in all three of the universities you mentioned. However, generally speaking these 3 unis can be viewed as equally good from the undergrad perspective. So you should really consider other factors such as location, living expenses, tuition fees (UniMelb has the highest fees among the Go8) etc.

350 as in RM or Australian dollar? I heard that the cost of living  smile.gif in sydney is extremely high? Coz I plan to take up construction management in UNSW.
*
I'm pretty sure he's talking about AUD, its close to impossible to survive on RM350 here in Sydney.

Can I survive abt A$ 1200 in sydney? Do I need expenses more or less than that amount of money? icon_question.gif

How about the cost of the accomodation? Is it cheaper to stay in the campus accom, or outside?  icon_question.gif

Depends on your accommodation, for myself, if i were to survive with that amount, my weekly rental can not exceed $200/wk. I would say give yourself a bigger budget, say $1400 per month, that would be better.

Im studying in Kensington Campus.I doubt that you get to study in UNSW's Canberra campus or AFDA as AFDA is for arts courses.

If you are doing engineering, commerce, medicine etc.Probably you are in Kensington campus.
Just do what is required on the offer letter. As long as you finish the things that require on the letter, you'll be fine.

For the payment, just use bank draft.Easier.Or credit card,if you like.

I'm not too sure about ADFA, but COFA @ Paddington is the one for art courses. ADFA I believe is for those who are in the military if I am not mistaken.

For most of the mainstream courses like engineering, commerce etc, you will definitely be in Kensington campus unless you applied for ADFA which I doubt you did.

And lastly to Joshua, welcome to UNSW smile.gif

air asia aint being launched in sydney yet... how sad.... MAS is so expensive... same as qantas!!! haizzzz.... i cant wait to go back malaysia!!! its been soo soooooo long that i never go back to malaysia... but i have budget as well... cause i pay my own air fare....

isnt it eithad is an arabic airline??? i cant enter their website... swt...

any other airways recommended???

Why don't you try the Sydney-Melbourne-KL or Sydney-Gold Coast-KL route with Jetstar for domestic and AirAsia for international flight? A ticket from Sydney to Melbourne shouldn't cost you more than $100 one way. Alternatively, you can fly Jetstar to Darwin and then to Singapore from there, with the final connecting flight from Singapore to KL.

I personally have not really calculated how big is the difference between these methods and paying the full-fare for MAS, but one thing for sure is you will end up spending many more hours in total.
