Owh. It is THAT near? 30 minutes from Clayton to Berwick? I'm doing a double major, and 1 of my majors is only offered at Caufield. Lol. Dangit. So i'll have to be traveling to and fro from those 2 places, unless they re-issue me another offer at caufield after reassessing this sem's results (provided i do well this time of course tongue.gif)

Hmm. So there are actually people staying in clay, and travel daily eh? But come to think of it i won 't have to travel daily, coz commerce students can do 3 day or 4 day classes if we want to =/

And in australia, its all about the booze eh? biggrin.gif
*
well if thats the case...u can stay in clayton better lor....coz caulfield is like about 30mins bus ride / or bus+train ride towards the citeh.....and berwick (pronounced as Bear-Rick, not BerWick...) is the opposite way...and as KVR has said.....slot of business chicks in main campus ah....meow!

=3

QUOTE(Makakeke @ Oct 20 2008, 08:32 PM)
Australia's air is wayyyyy cleaner than Malaysia. I'm asthmatic, i take about 3 puffs a day back in Msia, here I only take 1 puff, the customary before to sleep puff. That proves a lot.

Air... yeah... it happens to me. My nose is totally fine for an entire year, until I touch down on M'sian soil where it'll go running like a broken dam for a week. Need to pump pseudoephedrines and anti-histamines until my nose gets acclimatised to M'sian allergens doh.gif

yeah, I'm in 5th year but ours is a 6 year course so still some way to go... based in RMH although most of the gang is in Austin... sien... bah. Gotta muck around in Sunshine for the next 6/52... then exams... dulanz T_T
laugh.gif

I don't. tongue.gif

The last time I did was during dinner with friends and at that time we were playing some stupid games... vodka makes the world go round. And round and round my head goes... Didn't get drunk but can feel the disinhibition adi... and can hear the arteries in my head pumping so loudly. Luckily no hives that time sweat.gif
*

erm no leh....if u drink u cna blend in easier with the ang moh's....coz i think the angmoh's think like usually international students are tightass pircks....so if u drink n get wasted....shows that ur cool....ur like them...and u can get accepted....its like watching footy n circket...makes things easier.....then can go uni to cannon away....like....wah i was so wasted the other weekend....yea me2....or like damn i hate collingwood....yea...me 2 bunch of useless fcukers....man harbajan is such a loser....yea.....i wish andrew symonds would shove the bat up his arse....

sweat.gif I plan to work there after I graduate.. That means the possibility for me to migrate there is lesser..  sad.gif

anyway, I read about the article - what can we bring and what we cannot bring to australia..
I know its their rules to prevent some diseases, but... I really really feel to bring all my favourite food there..  drool.gif
anyone try before? bringing food such as indomee, some chinese cookies - tau sa piah, etc..
*
dun bring indomie here...u can get it pretty cheap here....20cents per packet....if u buy in big box....cookies should be okay....im not quite sure bout bringing them in with ur luggage....but certainly can send it over....thats how we get our fair share of kuih raya.....and tau sa pia.....one of my fren from teluk intan told me that 'heong peng' (fragrant biscuit blink.gif blink.gif ) can clear the *customs....just make sure u explain to them what that is, and like they say...if u declare...most probably u get to keep it....dun sneaky sneaky....

laugh.gif they confiscate ours and sell to the shops and make money?? =.=

weird rules for them.. although i know they scared of what what what diseases spread around them.. but.. too strict already!!
*
nola...they confiscate n throw away.....there's quarantine bin along the corridors at the carousel....so if u accidentally brought sth illegal in....throw away into those bins and avoid fine...food detection is very good as they got sniffer doggies....very very cute beagles.... wub.gif wub.gif

erm...u can always try ur luck....coz sometimes u get some very strict officers watever food stuff oso confiscate....but some they allow certain things...most oso i hear say only....coz i dun bring food in......

anyway yea u can get tau sa piah in the asian shops....they sell lotsa things....but mostly processed / frozen food la...and yeaa those food wouldnt taste as good coz they as usually not as fresh....like those fried keropok n etc....sumtimes it tasted abit stale...like the bau tengik minyak sth like that....

What the... tau sa pneah also wanna bring. Hahaha. The whole point of going to Aussie is to experience a different lifestyle dudes! Don't bring your comforting stuff over, like your trusty barney cuddly thingie or ur smelly bolster or home-made-cookies.

>:D live like an OZ mate!
*
well i dont think most ppl are like that...in fact even if u want to u cant.....coz most msians are in the cities....so u wont get the real aussie feel at all...its more asian than aussie....unless u go to some smaller town like bendigo, mildura, gippsland or sth....then only u get the real taste of aussie....

well maybe coz one's new here so gotta have some comfort food n etc....dont prejudge ppl just like that....not everyone can take the plunge and adapt like u do....

i am one strong believer of being true to oneself.....ie speaking manglish, not saying 'no worries', 'arvo', 'mate'.....i go by no problem, afternoon, dude/man.....i do accept and learn their ways but definitely not embracing theirs and discarding mine along the way....each to their own...thats just my take.... icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

ahhh thnx but no thnx....never a fan of tau sa piah or heong peng.....more a fan of triple fudge choc cookies......

yea, drink more man!

anyway yea don't waste your time and luggage space bringing food over, you get lots of asian stuff here anyway...
*
yea i think so too things that can be bought here shouldnt be brought over....for me i bring books over coz its cheaper to buy books in msia...but i usually dun bring much stuff....always ended up with 16-17kg...

but i think its better to leave room for those things of sentimental value....like ur 21st gift, ur family pic....present from frens, those goin-overseas gift from frens.....

No limits to the hours you can work as long as you agree to it and are not under union rules for specialized work (QT train driver, public transport, public servant) . But if you drive cabs, QT or Queensland Transport has a 16 hour maximum for 24 hours, after that you can't login your radio network. PROTIP : You can still take hails for cash and still make a killing with off meter cash jobs. Although being an unsafe driver will make other cabbies look bad so i don't recommend it. We do pride ourselves on having good driving skills.

Made 1300 minus tax and GST driving taxis at the Indy 300 for 4 days. Recession? What Recession? lol. Got 2 spewers though.

Damn the Aussies love their public drinking don't they?
*
ahhh good that u stick to the job ethics...**but then again....how often do u get a 'george orwell-reading' cab driver?? in melb 99.9999999999999999999999999999% cabbies are of south asian origin.....yea the curry dudes.....

the other day i was suppsoed to go home at 4am...all those cabbies....i hail them them they ask me where to go...then they dun wan to drive me coz its too near....not much $$$ to make....knnbccb vmad.gif vmad.gif .....then the bouncer / traffic dude told me they cant do that...told me just hop inside and ask them to drive....then they damn smart summore....keep the door locked....so u gotta tell them where ur going before they take u..... vmad.gif vmad.gif .....damn sked....got maori ppl fighting...then i damn sked to walk home coz its just 1 month since that Msian indian kid got bashed up so badly that need to be put into coma...luckily theres this other eastern european taxi guy whu are willing to take me...i giv him tips summore.... rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

anyway im applying for casual.....do i still fall under the jurisdiction of the unions?? hmm.gif hmm.gif

but then again cabbie driver damn untung.....i heard from dudes from holmesglen whu drive cabs at night....they say drivers get 50% of all the fares.....and the boss provide the car, petrol, service n etc...
