I'm planning to buy this amp at the end of this year but can't decide which one. The only difference i know about the XL one is it has RETURN/SEND jack and can get higher gain? tongue.gif i'm new to these stuffs so can anyone explain what does it mean by higher gain?oh and what other features XL has than the regular one?

Erm, higher gain as in a more distorted sound. More suitable for metal then.

yup high gain amps are used for hard rock, metal and stuff like that, plus the advt xl is pretty versatile for playing it.so if your not in to that kinda stuff then i think u should go with the advt.not too sure bout the features compared to the advt though

Even though you are not into metal, sometimes or in the future you might need the extra feature. So make your spending more worth it.

The return/send jack are for the switch foot and I also noob in this, I could not explain much. sweat.gif

yeah i'd definitely buy the XL one if it's under 1k and unfortunately it isn't,is it? that's why i'm trying to find out whether the XL is worth it over the regular one cos of the price difference. but then again, if the XL is really much better than the regular one, i'd probably eat meggi for a month and save up money for it biggrin.gif

The Send/Return jacks would be your effects loop.
What it does is, it allows your effects to take part in your signal in between the preamp and the poweramp section.
You get more flexibility because some effects can sound worlds apart whether it's placed in the loop or with your guitar signal before the preamp. Namely modulation and time based effects generally sound better, but since how "good" effects sounds is purely preference based, therefore when I mean better, it's what most people agree to, whom some don't, so be sure to try it yourself.

Gain would be the ratio of output with respect to the input of the signal. Higher gain = louder volume, but it'll also distort more (not gonna put the details). So generally, higher gain = more distortion = more suitable for heavier music genres like metal and hard rock. But don't be mistaken, even with high gain, some amps can still handle low gain situations and sound great!

Cheers, hope this helps.

owh i've just manage to browse their website but thank you for posting the map smile.gif

oh wait i just realized that ristikol said for this model(30Watt) it doesn't has a return loop. so basically for AD30VT-XL it is pretty much the same as AD30VT right?so XL just differs by the extra gain?? hmm.gif

Added on September 5, 2008, 2:02 ami emailed CK musics and they said AD30VT after discount cost rm748.ad15VT is rm660.he forgot to mention about the XL one. totally have to wait for the year end sale lah. smile.gif
