I have installed a layer of tint on my car, but my car is still very hot, unusual hot i would say as compare to my fren's car. So i am planning to install a 2nd layer tint to see if it would improve. Anyone did this on their car? Whats the price range of tint u get and any problem so far?

TS double layer also dark black? If yes sure hot lo. Dark Black paper just beauty only, no performance in sun protector.

Normally first layer is good tint with higher percentage of heat rejection... Then second layer go for black..

yes i do know that the warranty is void....but i just claim warranty for my tint so is ok tongue.gif

Hm i went to tint shop and ask for the 2nd layer, the solar energy reject is 45%, while my first layer is 66%, so i guess is not that bad?

I m just wandering the chances that it will become blurish or bubble is high ornot..

if the workmanship is good... it wont create bubble or blurish...
normal ppl will use safe tint... and reflective tint on second layer... 3rd layer will be dark tint

hey..

used to have double layer all round except for the front windscreen on my city.. with the second layer as dark tints, but has since removed them.. however when i had the dark tints on, i did went for another layer of heat rejection for my front windscreen.. the difference is noticeable actually.. but of course don't expect your car to be cooling when it has been under the sun for half the day, i don't think any tint can do so..

bro,
if your car is under the sun for many hours.. don't expect to run into your car feeling very comfortable because the heat transferred through the metal parts of your car still can't be eliminated..

1st my car came with some tint.. heat rejection ain't that good..
then i had dark tints all around, except the front.. in other words, has no heat rejection properties..
then i had another layer of heat rejection for my front windscreen.. i can feel the effect after the double layer on the front..

the double layer on the rest of my car doesn't do much work, except absorbing the heat to the windows.. which is why i can feel the heat on the windows, although the heat doesn't get transferred to my skin.. that's my experience..

when i removed the dark tints, most screens were fine.. didn't affect the first layer, only some slight colour distortion for my passenger side that's it.. the rest is fine..

On whether the heat is bearable (assuming equivalent tinting) depends on:
1. Rooftop insulation quality
2. Sedan with 2 sloping windscreens or hatch with 1 sloping FWS, 1 vertical RWS
3. Colour of the carl; black car apa pun panas lah.

I have a BMW with a layer of windscreen tint that came standard. Another layer of v-kool was applied. The smarttag no longer functions 100% effectively through both layers, but luckily there's a cutout in the standard tint layer near the rear-view mirror for the smarttag.

So just to let you know, if you're double-tinting, maybe leave a hole in one of the layers for the thing to work.

I heard the shop fella say if i put 2 layer, next time if i wan to peel it off, both layer will come out together...

2nd layer not encourage lar.. i heard it is totally useless...
if hot, juz go for better tint lar, v-kool perhaps.. spend more money on tint then u will feel the diff. no point u stack 3 layer of cheap tint on ur car, u will kena saman from jpj due to too dark only, and never help in cooling ur car..
