depending on the soundcard u are using, independent soundcard can out produce louder output than onboard
for instance, i test using headphones,
using onboard, i turn the volume all the way to 100 and still it's only average
with xfi , turning it to 40+ it's already louder than onboard 100

Then I guess bcos I use X-Fi gua and also i turn up to 90 in PC and 2 lvls on speakers and it's already enuf to blow the house liao....

btw, i received already my new sound card, but sadly its a X-Fi XtremeMusic the seller thought it is XtremeGamers. No wonder la i felt very cheap..RM200 only later i post the soundcard pic

x-fi has a weak amp . using speaker still ok becasue it's amp(ed) with your sub.

I agree. the difference between my xfi and my old soundcard that came with the maximus formula is like... hmmm... ALOT. Hahaha. BASS level is ATLEAST DOUBLED and volume... if my speaker is half, the i dun even dare put 30% on computer. huhu!
