I just came back from bandung... I had great pleasure having Mr Bowo as my driver.
I booked my driver from here http://www.andrarentour.web.id .  This is a company, so
sure it has many drivers. If you want Pak Bowo, just mention about it when you do the
booking.

I regret going to tangkuban perahu. with just a so-so scenery..  and worse when 'mosquitoes' follows
you around. I mean, a group of sellers follows you all the time, everywhere and it's hard not to buy
anything...  Better go to Kawah Putih putih. More beautiful scenery and there's no 'mosquitos' there. So,
I can enjoy the moment..

Strawberry selling trick : They'll show you a big box of strawberry and say it just 5k rupiah. When you want to buy, they'll change their word, saying 5k is for small box,  and 10k is for big box..  Anyway, 10k rupiah (~rm3) for big box is still worth it.. you can't get that kind of price here, ever.

This is the big box strawberry for 10k rupiah (~rm3), bought at the car park at Kawah Putih.

I stay at golden flower hotel (at Jln Asia Afrika). Location is not my concern at all coz I got supir to bring me
around everyday. This hotel is good. All the employees I met in the hotel are very friendly.. Breakfast is good with plenty of menu, and the breakfast menu is changed everyday. So, I didn't get bored with the same breakfast menu like hotels in Malaysia do.

yes, it is silly they shouting "5k for 2 boxes" when they hold different box. they only just want to take your attention.

They are less conservative there. Like alot less.

That being said, dont wear super micro mini shorts with just a tube top la. (post pics if you do! tongue.gif )

Do note the cold and nyamuk when deciding ur dress code.

Jakarta as of last Saturday was haze free. Surprised to not be able to see KLIA when I landed then. O.O!

----

For convenience, can we start a list where ppl state where they stayed, their rating, the price, and also the supir (rating and price too)?
Something like:

Date of Stay: Month n year at minimum if dont wanna state the date itself
Length of Stay: xx Days
Airline and price:
Hotel Name:
Hotal Star rating: 1-5star, agak agak la.
Hotel Ranking: x/10, 10 being highest
Hotel/Location comments:

Driver/Rental used: Supir or just the vehical rental
Vehical Model:
Cost of Driver/Rental:
Driver/Rental Ranking: x/10
Driver/Rental comments:

Trip comments: Say where u go, anything interesting found or bad happen, great deals, etc etc.

Just got back from bandung early sept.
Word of advice when going to Tangkuban Perahu. There so many seller will follow you. Dont buy, just ignore and bear with it haha. (Stuff they sell beganda-ganda expensive.not sure about the gerai tho)
Also a few claim they are guide appointed by government (dono true or not) but when you talk to them they will try to sell too.
Conclusion just ignore anyone who aproach n enjoy the view as much as u can.
