Unless you wanna go far, take taxies for shopping. Really.
Infact me and my friends walked like 2-3 KM and found shops worth visiting that wasn't on the map. Its ok walking paths and cool weather.

Jakarta Innova + Driver + Petrol was RP 750k /10 hours. Not sure if Bandung is same price, but hope it helps.

Is it safe to walk in Bandung? How much do you think i need for 4D3N excluding hotel and flight?

Relatively safe but no place is completely crimeless. I did walk between Paskal & Braga at night.
We can't judge how much you're gonna spend shopping.
Just say that a normal road side meal cost IDR15-20k, a McD value meal IDR30k & up.
Bandung taxi has a minimum charge of IDR25k.
While if you're brave enough to take angkut, the fare range from IDR3-8k depending on distance (within city).

Thanks for the advice. I have yet to book anything yet. What hotel is recommended? Preferably somewhere central and near to shopping place and food.

generally, you are safe to walk in bandung. but better do it in tourist area and in daylight.

cheap flight is not same. if you want to shopping here, malindo maybe cheaper because already including luggage.

note that now bandung airport tax is included in ticket price. so ticket price will be more expensive than last year.

went there last year. took a private driver to kawah putih and tour around the city. They charged us 450k Rp per day (need to add extra 50k Rp for kawah putih). It was form DOM rental company. The driver are mostly young man

Hotel, hard to say bro. Too wide a range. Use Agoda/Tripadvisor.

Now MYR vs IDR rugi sikit, but bring more better than bring less.
If you are comfortable with it, call CC and tell them u will be in bandung from xxx to xxx, but always keep an eye on it when its being swiped.

Rate slightly better than exchanging at MidV.

Although there's also BII Maybank there, but when you check balance, it display in RM. So you won't know the exchange rate you're getting.

Open the Maybank Forex rate website lo. I have MBB ATM and its set up with my malysian HQ company, so easier for me to get to a BII atm.

I stop worrying about the exact amount, just withdraw 3mil one shot end of story. CC rates was cheaper tho, surprisingly.

Just to ask whether anyone needs any hotel accommodation in Bandung from 20th to 24th of September, let me know as I have booked the Hyatt Regency Bandung for 7 nights but can only stay during the weekends.

I just came back from bandung... I had great pleasure having Mr Bowo as my driver.
I booked my driver from here http://www.andrarentour.web.id . This is a company, so
sure it has many drivers. If you want Pak Bowo, just mention about it when you do the
booking.

I regret going to tangkuban perahu. with just a so-so scenery.. and worse when 'mosquitoes' follows
you around. I mean, a group of sellers follows you all the time, everywhere and it's hard not to buy
anything... Better go to Kawah Putih putih. More beautiful scenery and there's no 'mosquitos' there. So,
I can enjoy the moment..

Strawberry selling trick : They'll show you a big box of strawberry and say it just 5k rupiah. When you want to buy, they'll change their word, saying 5k is for small box, and 10k is for big box.. Anyway, 10k rupiah (~rm3) for big box is still worth it.. you can't get that kind of price here, ever.

it also happened to domestic travelers
