The equity trading system on Bursa Malaysia Securities and the Electronic Trading Platform for the bond market have not been affected by the technical problem and have opened as normal, it said. QUOTE(cherroy @ Sep 8 2008, 10:38 AM) Thanks feralee. welcome May be recent of few days heavy rain causing the server catching cold again. Added on September 8, 2008, 10:41 amToday all up kau kau, deep green around the global, (due to bailout plan of Fannie and Freddie, might be a short term event, don't overly bullish, short term wise market can up several hundred points, no problem but long term issue still remain unknown), KLSE might be the one will end in flat or red as well, by seeing the volume and trading pattern. QUOTE(sharesa @ Sep 17 2008, 08:49 AM) Am quite glad the US govt trying to save AIG. SINGAPORE: Hundreds of anxious investors thronged the Singapore office of a unit of American International Group (AIG) to redeem their policies yesterday, on fears the US insurance giant could be the next financial firm to tumble.Yesterday, I was quite in deep shock of AIG's news as I have insurance policy with AIA singapore. Beside the US govt bailout, Singapore Govt also assured that AIA Spore is segregated from AIG, so assets are sufficient to back liabiliies. Phew American International Assurance, a wholly-owned subsidiary of AIG, pinned up an article from a local paper headlined “AIA policyholders get assurance” at its entrance, but that did not deter wary investors who are facing a deluge of bad news after Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy protection on Monday. “There’s so much financial turmoil. Anyway, the yield’s not that attractive,” said stock trader Tan Peng Hock, a policyholder in the queue, who said he did not mind surrendering a policy worth about US$42,000 despite possible losses. “I prefer to hold cash for the time being. It’s better to be safe than sorry,” said Tan. AIG, once the world’s top insurer by market value, has scrambled to raise cash and has been thrown a US$20bil lifeline by New York state, but came under renewed pressure yesterday as ratings agencies downgraded its debt. Security guards were ushering customers to the upper floors as crowds built up outside after lunch at AIA’s office. Singapore’s central bank assured investors yesterday that “AIA currently has sufficient assets in its insurance funds to meet liabilities to policy holders”. “Policyholders should, therefore, not act hastily to terminate their insurance policies with AIA as they may suffer losses from the premature termination and lose the insurance protection they may need,” the statement by the Monetary Authority of Singapore added. But some investors in Singapore remained unconvinced. The region’s central banks flooded money markets with cash yesterday, dishing out US$27bil, as they tried to prevent upheaval on Wall Street from freezing the financial system. – Reuters http://biz.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?f...08&sec=business |

QUOTE(panasonic88 @ Oct 6 2008, 03:21 PM) i remember our friend feralee mistakenly keyed the wrong buy price for his IOI on last week (or was it 2-weeks ago) he wanted to queue for $4 but mistakenly keyed $5, and the system automatically matched the highest buy price for him, which was $4.50 look, less than a week or so, IOI comes to $4 volatile isn't! |
