for goodness sake!!! Why r u ppl here applying for personal loans?? Come-on, some of u only earn RM800 - 1300.... have u ever wonder what went wrong? What the heck happened? Overspend? GF wanna buy LV handbag? CC bills? Getting married? Renovation?

Instead of personal loans thread, can you guys go thru those "how to save $$" threads and do something for your future? For your own sake

1) overspend? - what the heck happened? Cant even resist temptation? Why not save enough $$ b4 buying it? Eg. If wanna buy a RM1200 watch/handbag, save RM100 every month, then 1 year later only buy!! (chances are, some might not even buy after 1 year of savings.... this is a way to deter emotional spending)

2) GF wanna buy expensive stuffs? - if she is like that, better find another gf... if u marry her, your life is ruined!! Your name in CTOS someday!!

3) CC bills? - no need to get personal loan to settle it. Just cut your card, pay minimum payment every month.. it will be fully settled in about 24months. If you wanna save more interest, do Balance transfer instead.... NO PERSONAL LOAN pls... interest higher than CC

4) Getting married? refer # 1

5) If biz is a sure win, go ahead and do it.. else dont bother... coz if biz cant tahan for 6 months, then close shop, or get into more borrowings,,, sure bankrupt 1 day!!

6) Renovation? - come-on... your hse is so much better than 90% of the population in India!! If got $$, then by all means, have a better life... but to borrow personal loans for this?? Get real

go learn more on money management, B4 filling up that personal loan form

oh yah, for those who earns 800-1300 and u r smoking, go find a mirror and slap yourself twice in front of it.... 30 packs a month X RM10 = RM300 ... enough for you to pay installment for a brand new car!! Look cool for smoking? Think again

u mean they will charge the interest first like ah long?

Interest & processing fee & stamp duty... all personal loans have this. Is this your FIRST time getting one? If you don't want interest/processing fee/stamp duty... borrow from 'ma & pa' lah....

p/s: nemoexcel.. this thread IS about personal loan... why don't you open up new thread on Saving Money topic elsewhere. it's not that people DONT know or DONT like to save... things can always go wrong somewhere somehow & that's why people need money to make up for it.

why r u so sensitive? If i open a thread on saving $$, do u think ppl who wanna apply for personal loan will open it?? Can you look at it that I might be giving advice to ppl who MIGHT be getting the loan for the WRONG purpose?? Hey, a person earning RM800-1300 is applying for personal loan here. If they are in debt already, then they are digging a deeper hole by applying another personal loan. If they are not in debt yet, then maybe someone like me should voice out and open up their eyes!!

I DIDNT say ppl should NOT apply for personal loan... read carefully!! My point was if they apply for the wrong purpose, then its not wise! Yes things can go wrong somewhere and they need money to make up for it... is renovation part of that something go wrong? Is buying a LV handbag for GF something went wrong? !! U did not read my post properly and simply shoot. Dont u know that 80% of the ppl who ends up in bankruptcy (due to cc/personal loans) are because of ppl like YOU who dont even know what u're getting your feet into?

If your children ask for a box of condom, do you just give it to them and tell them "take this condom, you need it to protect yourself from something wrong" .... or do you pull him/her to sit down and start to educate them on sex education and its responsibility?

p/s : jessecca, Interest yes, all personal loans have this... But processing fees and stamp duties are NOT COMMON. I wonder who is giving advice here!! A FIRST time personal loan applicant? Or a person with personal loans with all the banks who charged her processing fees/stamp duties? Or a personal loan sales officer whose loan has processing fee/stamp duty????

Don't know why you guys don't mind paying that interest. To me, banks and ah long make no difference as they take away your precious.

It's not about how much you can save in a day but what is more important is how much you can make in a day...

Dont get confuse, if u ask for balance/statement, thats the figure (Principal + Interest). If u ask to fully settle/payoff, they will give u a rebate which means deducted all ur interest remaining. Thats how Islamic Banking Works. High and fixed interest but recomended to those are wish to settle early.
Correct me if im wrong.

By the way, CIMB EXPRESS is not a good choice. Problem every month when u going to pay via cash deposit machine. I need to bring extra notes in case the machine rejected my money. (always happened). Very hard to reach thier CS operator. Keep passing the number and transfer line to wrong dept. Until now, im still not recieve my fully settlement statement. Its been 2 months since i faxed my letter to them and keep give the reason they are still preparing. In the end of the story, they have lost my letter and ask me to re-fax again...

I really cant tahan to serve thier very high interest.. was applied loan due to 10% of my house deposit.. short of RM3k..

its 24%pa interest rate so if u loan 5k for 5year...
5k + interest = almost 10k...

Not really. The T&C was really clear, that you are paying through the roof for but in return, getting fast cash. You can try to negotiate for a lower amount, but I doubt you will get it at any much lower.

Does that mean that you are planning for early settlement but they bank ask you to pay back near to the original loan amount of RM5K ? .. The previous paid amount of RM2760 is not deducted from the total borrow amount ?
Did they came out with any calculation table for your reference .. ?

simple u could go do a survey n i could even tell u that 7 out of 10 loan borrowers r borrowing for their own enjoyment not for emergency purposes

in the 1st place they should learn to save for an emergency fund at least b4 doing these stuff

i guess u 1 must of of them being so defensive wit lv, gucci, prada handbags parading it publicly when we know whose the actual owner doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif
