Actually those name is just the breeder name their fish to make it nicer only.. as long as the buyer like, then ok liao lo.
types then there is mainly 4 types tat is popular now which are (most<--->least) HMPK,HM,Giant,CT..
then color i guess there r too many.. haha..

2 ray long tail = veiltail..
if double ray doesnt mean veiltail then in my mind only pop out double ray ct.
maybe i m kinda newbie i had not heard double double ray b4 so i have no idea wat it is..

Answer for ur questions
Puchong breeder(i assume u mean home breeder at puchong),home breeder usually sell fish at rm20 and above and erm, usually halfmoon(real halfmoon) female shud b around rm40 and above.. So with the price u offer i guess is kinda hard to get wat u wanted.. Maybe u can try ur luck at jalan pasar,pudu with those rejected quality from home breeder.
Fry food u can get it from home breeder or some website selling betta in msia.
7 weeks betta we usually known as fries/juvi and home breeder usually wont sell their betta at this age. Betta only ready to breed when they r age 4 months above.
About medicine, there are various type of medicine,may i know which type of medicine u r referring to? (usually Melafix i assume then at cheras,kl can get it)

To be honest, u r just like me last time.. b4 buying any betta, will prepare everything 1st.. haha.. looking at ur comment makes me remind me last time.. hoho..
Well for those diseases, u can try to prevent them or minimizing them by adding little bit of salt and ketapang leaf(indian almond leaf) into the water.. prevent is better than cure. Water change(WC) regularly then shud b alright.
For fungus,fin rot,pop eye, u can use yellow powder. But a bottle of Melafix is alright also. Dropsy? better let it die in peace only,so far 99% fish kena dropsy=mati. Velvet and white spot u can use methylene blue.

shud b ur water got problem or the fish stress or sick.. female do flare also just not as fierce as male.

is alright.. i just sharing wat i learn here and from BSM.. last time here got plenty of betta player but now all missing.. ><!!

Added on September 14, 2011, 8:36 pmnice but i will suggest u turn off all the filter when u put in the betta. then the separation thing also can remove.. do put a half cut cup on the water for the male to make bubble nest. then those pipe in the female tank u can put in the breeding tank for the female to hide while breeding.. the male might chase the female for 9 street.. haha.. only turn on the filter(with minimum bubble) when the fries r age around 3 weeks.

HMPK = a plakat(short tail) tat has 4 ray and above and got 180 caudal spread. (*i guess pretty close to ur 2nd explanation)
TPK aka Traditional plakat = 2 ray at the caudal only

HM = a long tail fish with 180 caudal spread
Super delta = a long tail fish with more than 170 caudal spread but less than 180
Delta = a long tail fish with less than 170 caudal spread
Veiltail = a 2 ray long tail betta

The price? tats very subjective.. the seller set the price then if the buyer like and can afford then the deal is done.
One more thing is ; u pay for wat u get.. If u like it then the price isnt a big issue anymore unless the price set by the buyer is too ridiculous.
Usually for HMPK and HM price range will be RM20-RM100(depends on quality).

erm, i just started to breed HM ( fries only 3 days old) haha..
CT = hard to maintain..
HMPK = easy to take care and nice
HM = nicer but need more effort to take care ( tats y now only try breed HM)

i will say tat betta is a lonely fish.. if u put in other fish will make him bite d others only.. in order to increase the betta activity u need to let it exercise frequently(flaring activity).. flaring can improve the betta finnage and form.. ^^ how to make it flare? simply just show him another betta.. so buy 2 betta and put in different jar then block their view with each other.. let them see each other once in a while..

my grown out tank is 2.5ft. the growth rate? depends how many it eat lo.. eat more = faster big.

erm, u can try microworm for the fries when they r free swimming.. then switch to bbs then daphnia then chopped tubifex/bloodworm.
