think your water is not stable as before breeding u need to put indian almond leaves to avoid your fries from getting infected with fungus and parasites.
you will have to feed them too after they spawn for a few days. i usually feed them with shrimps. u need to put the shrimps evenly if u have a big tank or aquarium
as the young fries not yet able to hunt for food on their surroundings like the adults.
as this is your first time breeding this pair the fries are a little weak. maybe on your second attempt they will be ok.
but don't expact much if u are using an aquarium. I tried using that and only manage to breed around 20 to 30 fries per tank.

by using plastic tanks i mange to raise around 100 now. its best if u have algae in the water as thats the best to keep them alive as it is hard to estimate how much they
eat. worms and shirmps (protein) green plants (fibre). if u have both of this ur fries will grow fast too. hope this can help you out in your next try.

edmund, if it is 180, then 100% is HM d, no matter his finnage got how many rays...
of coz, for hm, more rays its better, even it dont flare also will be 180 like my BLUE BUTTERFLY HM(dont flare also 180) ..

urs if 180 when flare still consider HM, even when he dont flare look like SD...
