Am going to Osaka today, and just checked in, they've given me another extra day there, so extended shopping is possible, instead of the next day departure. I myself am headed to Yodobashi Camera (www.yodobashi.com) for my stuff, and to check out any new electronics there.

If anyone's interested on anything Apple-related, or otherwise, PM me back, dont post them here. Big Brother's watching.

One of the things I'm looking for is this:-

, made by Rockridge, a Japanese manufacturer.

Sony Rolly. Works in tandem with the Bluetooth Sony Walkman I've just bought two weeks back, where I can stream the songs from the Sony Walkman, via Bluetooth, to the Rolly.

Interesting, but Yodabashi's online pricing isn't as cheap as the camera stores in NYC or Amazon surprisingly. I guess I'll pass this time around.

Thanks spring, enjoy your Osaka trip!

You mean J&R and B&H Photo? Oh man, you wouldnt know how much I wrestled with my want/need and the rational part of my brain, NOT to splurge like crazy while I was in Park Row (J&R) and Ninth Avenue (B&H).

Thanks, I will make sure I will. This time, it is more of a relaxing trip, rather than a shopping like crazy trip. tongue.gif

Yup, they've been out for a while in Japan. Only been recently cleared by the FCC for the American distribution, but still not on store shelves there.

Yes, I think B&H and Adorama has better choices and service than J&R, I never liked J&R unless it's for electronics and even then they tend to be overpriced sometimes. But I enjoy going to B&H, been a customer since the early 1990s.

Now the last time I was in Japan though it looked as if you need to haggle to get the best prices. And if you don't speak Japanese you're kinda out of luck...

Not until the "Big Boys" relinquish it to us again. The 747 guys have taken it back, because load has increased. Wait until winter pattern starts, then we may get it back. Pretty much spoiled they are, easy summer season, they get. Crazy winter season, with snowstorms and blizzard, then give it to us. doh.gif

You know how I yearn for another NTC experience, bro. The city truly does NEVER sleep. I miss Times Square and Rockefeller Center. cry.gif

The haggling part is correct if you shop in DenDen Town/Nipponbashi in Osaka, or Akiba/Akihabara in Tokyo, where shops are competing with each other to attract customers. If a single-store "ultra-mart" like Yodobashi, the price are relatively fixed. See how lah, I may drop by DenDen if I have time, but Yodobashi is so much more easier on the foot for me, it is all in one place. DenDen stretches for miles!

Added on September 1, 2008, 5:23 pmBut seriously, if anyone got anything to look for in Japan, Apple-related or otherwise, this is your chance. The iClooly, I'll most definitely try and get for myself.

Sorry Tink dear, it is all in Yapon. I was lucky last time to even get one of their attendants to speak a little bit of Engrish. laugh.gif

But Yaponese toilets are super awesome. Bidet and lush streams of water jet caressing your bottom, like silk. Even have control panel for their toilets! shocking.gif

Konnichiwa, posting from Yodobashi Camera Umeda.

Corvinux, your iPhone headphones are with me, Softbank version. Same as Apple but with the Japanese writings. After conversion is RM110.

Anybody want the iClooly for iPhone 3G or iPod Touch, I have it right infront of me. Y4980. If no interested post until 4pm KL time/ 5pm Osaka, I'm just buying for myself and my bro.

Fortunately for you, and unfortunately for my wallet. tongue.gif laugh.gif

Black Sony Rolly, with black cradle and black carrying case.

Gonna drop by the Walkman section to get the cradle for Sony Walkman Bluetooth I'm using now.

Also gonna drop by the videogames section and grab myself a copy of MGS Bande Dessinee i've been delaying to get. I wonder if I should get Afrika for PS3 or not.

I can only think of accessories since they are not affected by language. There a lots of choices from Belkib and Switcheasy, the rest are China brand generics. I could get the dock for iPhone 3G here. Iclooly is definitely cool and in getting one. My initial plan of getting the Sharp Willcom D4 is cancelled after reports of poor battery life. Y113000 only , drop from Y148000 previously. I was also looking for iPhone speaker dock but there are none in the market here.

29 minutes left.

Very good for in-ear buds. I'm moving up to Bose QC3 so it's now just sitting in Its own pouch. Remember, this one answers calls too.

As for cases, I can only personally recommend the iClooly. The rest are either available in KL or not available at all. I don't see any Contour cases here.

No Switcheasy other than for the iPod Touch, my mistake there.

Sorry late reply, I was testing out the Sony Rolly, make sure it works. Testing in their lounge area, a few seriously cute and white, smooth skinned Japanese hotties were crowding around my table to look at the Rolly. Looks like I found my chick magnet, me not handsome enough, just spin out the Rolly enough. laugh.gif

Rx330, if you want the iClooly , I can get one for you. You will have to handle the method if getting it COD to you though. To charge the iPhone while inside iClooly, slot the cable through the slit onbthe stand and slip it under the holding metal below your iPhone. Cable still visible but not messy to me.

The salespersons here already raising their voices , signalling that they are intensifying their sales pitch. I had better go find a place to eat.

Rx, how?

Sorry guys I'm in the country already.

With me it is simple. My sig will tell you where I'm bound for next. If that city holds the items you want to get, gimme a holler via PM. It would be very much helpful if you can also do a little research on your own on where to get the item, so I don't have to waste time to go search for it.

As for the iClooly, I only got one fir myself. Looks great disguising itself as an iMac! laugh.gif to Fighteden and Rx330, I wish I could stay longer at Yodobashi, but it's already approaching buka puasa time.

As for the rest who PM, I wish I had more time there to look for your items. Keep an eye out on my sig for my next trip.

Damage to wallet: 1 x SEP-BT10 Sony Rolly Black, 1 x Black Sony Rolly cradle, 1 x Black Sony Rolly pouch, 1 x Sony Walkman cradle, 1 x iPhone headset for Corvinux, 1 x iClooly.

Maybe I'll do a simple review of the Sony Rolly before I close this thread. The Rolly on has 1GB but I'm planning to use it as a Bluetooth speaker and also its dancing capabililty. You can stream audio via BT to the Rolly and watch it dance itself own merry way! This is definitely going onto my living room table, great conversation piece. biggrin.gif

Japanese hotties can only look-see. The closest I got to them is when I was testing out the Rolly. laugh.gif

The crowd at HEP Five and Navio, are the stuck-up kinds, not unlike the crowd in Harajuku or Shinjuku in Tokyo. Sorry lah, I dont subscribe to their spiky hairs, and weird fashion sense.

A quick peek at my new baby, Sony Rolly.

The NWZ-A829 Sony Walkman Bluetooth is streaming its 16GB content to the Rolly, while the Rolly have its arms open to project the sound. Putting it in speaker mode now, not wanting it to dance off the table! laugh.gif

Anybody in the vicinity of KL Sentral, come join me buka puasa here. Either Kenny Rogers or Secret Recipe.biggrin.gif

The Sony Rolly is a combination of a robot, portable speaker and MP3 player. It plays its own music inside its internal memory, it also plays music streams from Bluetooth-capable devices such as your laptop, Bluetooth-enabled MP3 players (NWZ-A820 line of Sony's own Walkman for example, or the new lineup from Samsung), and from your Bluetooth enabled cellphones!

In addition to that, it also "dances" to the rhythm of the songs it is playing! The "arms" will flap in and our, and rotates, while the two roller wheels allows it to move around, based on the rhythm of the songs too. You can either let it "dance" based on it own rhythm analyzer, or program its motion-control from the bundled software.

Youtube "Sony Rolly" and watch it dance! biggrin.gif

Sure, if I can find it. Actually, you missed a good opportunity to get LV, I was in Paris last week, remember? I got a Frankfurt coming up in the second week this month, but their summer sales are over, so the price would escalate back to its normal level.

I got the very same demo songs and motion-stages as inside that Youtube clip. Make my little Rolly very hyperactive! laugh.gif

Usually when approaching the end of summer, they would be trying to clear stock.

Rolex? You see my watch in that pic I took with Rolly also you'll know I'm not a fan at all of any Rolexes, Tag Heuer, or expensive watches. I am what others would call the epitome of geekiness, my most-wanted watch would be the one stuffed with gadgetries, not jewels or 24-karat gold.

I think it's safe to close this thread since that Youtube basically sums up what you can do with the Rolly. Currently listening to it dance to the Halo Live Instrumental album. Very......errrr.....mellow? laugh.gif

Nope, no A2DP/AVRCP profile to pair to.

@mikelee
The back of the iClooly is tapered, so I'm not sure if it fits the Aifonej. They have three different versions of iClooly, for Aifonej, Aipotaj and Aifontriji.
